We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenna and Jackie Beal. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenna and Jackie below.
Jenna and Jackie, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear your thoughts about family businesses.
We fully support family businesses! We are a sister duo [team]. Jackie (co-founder) had the initial thought to do something outside of our full-time jobs, something creative, something she was passionate about. Immediately she thought of her sister and best friend in the whole wide world and their love for Aperol Spritzes. Working together tiny bubbles has evolved into a unique experience with multiple offerings. Jackie’s clear vision, determination and meticulous attention to detail is the driving force that has made tiny bubbles a great success. Jenna is the driving force behind the web and social media presence of tiny bubbles. She is also very handy with the cart and keg set up. Together they make a great team. The best part of tiny bubbles is that we get to do what we love together!
Jenna and Jackie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
tiny bubbles bar cart is a unique experience to bring endless bubbles to your next event! Our bar carts specialize in adult beverages made of tiny bubbles – sparkling wine (champagne, prosecco, cava), signature spritzes, beer, mimosas, and bellinis, as a few ideas. Our hope is to be a one-of-a-kind addition to your fabulous event! Laying in our years of experience in the service industry and our years in the corporate world, we take a high-touch approach to ensure everything is perfect for your event. Our events range from backyard bougie parties to [bridal and baby] showers, weddings and everything in between. We want to be a stress-free statement piece for the host and provide beautifully curated beverages for the guests.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
We have had many growing pains when it comes to bringing our vision to life. We have overcome these growing pains, through endless determination, many trial and error experiences and the unwavering support from our family and friends. We have experienced our fair share of “in the moment” event catastrophes that we have quickly had to fix or improvise for. We have learned from each experience to ensure we never had to relive that again. In May, we were a part of a Mother’s Day event and the event was supposed to be outside but Mother Nature had some[thing] else in mind. It was pouring rain, cold and the new place we were asked to set up was inside, up a ramp and up some stairs. Unloading the cart in the pouring rain, we were trying to do it as fast as we could so the cart would not get all wet. We were not able to make it up the ramp due to railings, so we had to take the cart through the grass and do our best to keep it lifted so it would not sink into the wet, muddy ground. Our carts are very heavy! We also had to ask around the event for a few more hands to lift up the stairs. Nonetheless, we did get the cart inside [and the event was fabulous!] [delete -the event space for the Mothers Day event.] This event taught us we need to be sure to know the event space prior to arrival for set up and ensure there is [always] a plan b.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Before we had a few private events booked, we booked a few pop-up events. Our first popups were at Sandlot Baltimore in hopes to gain some public exposure. We also partnered with other women-owned, small businesses to be part of popups to benefit from cross promotion. Most of all[,] we have heavily concentrated on growing our brand through social media and through developing our website to have a digital presence and increase our exposure. Instagram has been a great tool to showcase the broad spectrum of events we can do. In November 2022, we launched our website which was a huge accomplishment. Now we reach an even larger audience by being searchable.
