We were lucky to catch up with Jenn Haston recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Jenn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?

Yes! Did you know that according to Pew Research Center, last year 46% of Americans did not take vacations. That’s a strong indicator that folks need to stop and take a breath. Self-care is essential for overall balance. In addition, the time away allows for people to approach things when they return with fresh eyes. Rest Is A Right. So often the thought is that, “I”ll finish x, and THEN I’ll rest, but truly, that never happens, does it? You have to be intentional and PLAN it, or it Won’t Happen. Trust Me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

For over 15 years, I have been a guiding force in helping individuals and companies achieve better balance. Starting with my career coaching business and evolving to collaborate with organizations and individuals, I empower them to find equilibrium in their professional and personal lives. I firmly believes in the transformative power of rest, a principle substantiated by numerous studies showing that embracing rest leads to better results.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Just start. I know it is scary and as one of my favourite authors, Jon Acuff, says, “Fear gets a voice, not a vote.” Being vulnerable is my brand, figuring that out took a while, I’ve been in business a while and the thing that helped me most saying yes, and THEN figuring out how I was going to do it.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Next May, I will graduate from college. I started that journey in 1999, because a relative offered to pay for it, and around 6 months into that promise, they completely disappeared without a trace so I had to pivot and figure out how I was going to go to college and pay my bills. I’d love to say I figured it out pretty quickly and that’s simply not the case mostly because “life is gong to life” I have started and stopped so many times but as the saying goes, “it doesn’t matter where you start, it just matters where you finish.
