We were lucky to catch up with Jenn Duenez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jenn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
It’s funny you ask. I actually changed the name of my business going on two years ago for a basic reason of name recognition.
When I started the journey of owning and operating my own company, I only had one son, Beckham at the time and a dog named Waylon. I knew I wanted something that was catchy but also something that was unique to me. So, what did I do? I named the whole thing after their celebrity couple name, Baylon (Marketing). It was early 2018 and it was easy to remember. After I started to realize that more people were calling it ‘Jenn’s business’ or ‘Jesse’s wife’s company’ I knew it was time to make the change.
My husband and I are the perfect example of Black Cat/ Golden Retriever energy. He has a high school reunion every time we leave the house. Therefore, the name name change to Jenn Duenez Creative just made sense.
Jenn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey stands as a testament to the resilience ingrained within us all, particularly evident in the face of challenges that have defined the post-2020 landscape. Starting from my roots as a hairstylist driven by a desire to connect with people, I embarked on a transformative path into the realms of print and digital marketing, driven by an insatiable curiosity for new horizons.
Venturing into the dynamic world of marketing and creative services, I not only amassed invaluable experiences but also unearthed an inner strength to navigate uncertainties with grace. The founding of Jenn Duenez Creative Studio epitomizes this resilience—a bold leap rooted in an unyielding commitment to passion and principles, undeterred by the looming specter of failure.
In the pursuit of authenticity, I’ve embraced resilience as a guiding beacon, navigating diverse career trajectories, adapting alongside industry shifts, and steadfastly pursuing avenues for positive impact. As I embarked on the entrepreneurial odyssey, resilience emerged as a steadfast companion, propelling me forward amidst the ebb and flow of the journey.
Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
Well, in February 2020 I went on maternity leave and three weeks later the whole world flipped upside down. It was the hardest time of my life. Just like so many others, I was trying to pivot in the right direction. Unfortunately, between having figuring out the pandemic and PPD i was faced with deciding if I could keep JDCS’s doors open. Thankfully, I had a rockstar support team behind me that made the decision to keep moving forward work out.
