We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenn Cohen. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenn below.
Jenn , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
As an Intuitive Consultant, I help people and companies get clear on their intuition. My focus is strengthening the awareness of intuition in the Entertainment Industry.
Through the course of my career in the Entertainment Industry, I learned to fine tune my “hard skills” through a host of hands on experience, seminars, trainings and mentorships. Those learnings were essential and I am thankful for them, yet I always found myself yearning for more information around “soft skills,” In a business that seemed to succeed on the ability to build and maintain relationships and where communication is key, there was a crucial gap that needed filling.
Through awareness, learning and implementation of an Intuitive Skillset employees can expand the way they trouble shoot, communicate and create. Intuition often serves as a silent guide, helping individuals navigate complex situations and make decisions with clarity. By integrating intuitive practices into your business or work day, you can not only enhance individual capabilities but also foster a more cohesive and innovative environment.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After 27 years in the Entertainment Industry, I began my business as an Intuitive Consultant. Throughout my career I incorporated my intuitive skillset to guide me in directions I never could have dreamed of. As I became more aware of this sixth sense, it not only guided me in the success of my career, but also became a cornerstone of my professional approach. It became evident. how much more efficient I was at navigating challenges and how much more effective I was in my communication.
As an Intuitive consultant, the work I do with my clients holds significant potential to transform how individuals and companies operate within the industry. By helping clients tap into their intuition, they are empowered to access a deeper level of insight and understanding which enables them to approach their work with greater clarity and creativity. Our intuition allows us to be open to a perspective that might unlock a new path forward. There is energy around us all the time and that does not dissipate when we walk into an office, participate in a meeting, send an email or interact with our peers, leadership or clients.
By emphasizing the importance of an intuitive skillset, we can begin a shift towards holistic development, recognizing that success in the industry isn’t solely about being proficient in the “hard skills” but also about emotional intelligence, empathy, and the ability to connect with others on a deeper level.
The recognition of energy as a pervasive force in all aspects of our lives, including professional environments, is key. By acknowledging and working with this energy, individuals can cultivate a more harmonious and productive workplace culture.
Your emphasis on holistic development resonates deeply, highlighting the interconnectedness of technical skills and soft skills in achieving success. By integrating intuitive practices into the fabric of the industry, you’re not only enhancing individual capabilities but also fostering a more collaborative and empathetic community.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
For me it has been getting myself seen and letting my offer known through LinkedIn and then word of mouth. Word of mouth is invaluable in building trust and credibility. Once someone has experienced intuitive work, many like to share their experience and encourage others to schedule a session. I couldn’t ask for a better way to grow!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
That I must perform above and beyond what was asked of me to succeed. It wasn’t enough to just be good, I needed to be irreplaceable. Who else was going to stay in the office until 1am?
Who else was going to respond to emails no matter the day or time?
I had created a revised job description in my mind that I needed to live up to in order to keep the fearful thoughts of being replaced at bay.
That lasted for awhile…many many years until the realization that I don’t need to constantly overextend myself to prove my value began to set in.
I am happy to say that I have made real progress in the unraveling of this tightly held lesson. I have created new habits around when and how I operate my business – I do run into the old pressures of “urgent reply” at times, and it feels really good to know that the amount of pressure to reply is mine to apply.
It’s a journey to unravel deeply ingrained beliefs and habits, but it’s evident when I’m not completely depleted at the end of each day that this new way of being is a more sustainable approach to work and life.
