We recently connected with Jenlyn (unbn) Ford and have shared our conversation below.
Hi JenLyn (UNBN), thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My journey to creating avant-garde branding came from a deep personal struggle with the traditional concept of “niching down.” For eight years, I felt trapped by the expectation to fit myself into a single box—a limitation that didn’t reflect the complexity of my skills, interests, and passions. I realized that old systems, with their rigid, outdated expectations, couldn’t encompass what I envisioned for myself or the evolving world around me. Instead of compromising my muchness, I decided to build something new.
I created my own niche—a horizontal, avant-garde branding approach—specifically designed to wrap around the many facets of who I am. As a future-forward Humanist rights activist, neuroscience-trained executive leadership coach, makeup artist, fashion designer, AI enthusiast, and international best-selling author, my expertise spans a range of industries. These diverse experiences allowed me to break away from traditional branding expectations and instead cultivate an ethos rooted in authenticity and multifaceted talent.
I believe in creating communities that move together and thrive together. It’s not about conforming to a narrow niche but about celebrating every part of who you are and building an ecosystem that supports each other’s growth. This is the philosophy behind my avant-garde branding: empowering individuals to embrace their full spectrum of passions while creating spaces for success and support, where authenticity reigns and the systems are fluid, evolving, and designed for the modern world.
For me, it’s about creating brands that stand out by being true to themselves—bold, dynamic, and ready to challenge conventions—while ensuring they are equipped to adapt and thrive in a future-forward, ever-changing landscape.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a multifaceted creator and innovator who thrives at the intersection of artistry, science, and human rights. My work spans across a diverse range of passions, from neuroscience and biology to avant-garde fashion, makeup artistry, graphic design, and AI. I’m also a best-selling author, keynote speaker, and podcast host. My background is both vast and unique, rooted in a deep desire to blend creativity with data-driven expertise, all while advocating for a more inclusive and authentic future.
My journey into this industry was unconventional, driven by a resistance to the limitations I encountered in traditional systems. For years, I was told to “niche down” and choose one path, but I knew that wasn’t me. I have always seen the world through a multi-dimensional lens, and I was determined to create a space where I—and others like me—could be fully seen, heard, and celebrated. That’s how my avant-garde branding approach was born. I wanted to redefine what it means to have a brand, not by limiting ourselves to one identity, but by amplifying the full spectrum of who we are.
In my business, I offer a variety of products and services, all designed to support individuals and brands in expressing their true selves and standing out authentically. These include:
Executive Leadership Coaching, with a focus on neuroscience and biology to enhance self-awareness, optimize performance, and foster emotional intelligence.
Fashion Consultation and Design, bringing a bold, boundary-pushing aesthetic that helps people align their personal style with their inner identity.
Avant-Garde Branding Packages, where I help individuals and businesses create branding that captures the essence of their multifaceted talents.
Graphic Design and AI Integration, using cutting-edge tools to produce visually stunning and innovative designs.
Livestream Production and Podcast Hosting, sharing my insights and experiences while highlighting others’ stories and perspectives through my platform.
The problems I solve for my clients revolve around helping them break free from limiting expectations and embrace their uniqueness. Whether it’s a brand struggling to find its voice, a leader looking to enhance their impact, or an individual wanting to express their full, authentic self, my work is about building systems that allow them to thrive. I specialize in creating holistic, horizontal communities that empower individuals to move forward in many directions at once without compromising their muchness.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend scientific rigor with creative flair. I bring together the analytical mind of a neuroscience and biology expert with the imaginative spirit of a fashion designer and makeup artist. This holistic approach allows me to address both the internal mindset and the external aesthetics of a brand, making sure the two are in harmony.
I’m most proud of my ability to help others see themselves in a new light—to bring out the best in people and organizations, not by asking them to conform, but by highlighting what makes them unique. It’s deeply fulfilling to watch clients transform, owning their narrative and thriving in ways they never thought possible.
At the core, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my brand is about authenticity, evolution, and community. I believe in creating spaces where people can be themselves, fully and unapologetically, while also having the tools to navigate the complexities of the modern world. My ICON(oclastic) VISION(ary) is a blend of bold, striking aesthetics and deep, thoughtful strategy, all underpinned by a future-forward vision that embraces change and challenges the status quo.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Keeping in touch with clients and fostering brand loyalty is all about creating genuine, ongoing relationships that go beyond transactions. Here are some of the key ways I maintain that connection and build a loyal community around my brand:
I prioritize personalized, authentic communication with each client. This means I take the time to understand their unique needs, interests, and goals. Whether it’s through emails, direct messages, or follow-up calls, I make sure that every interaction feels personal and customized. I believe in listening deeply to my clients, offering guidance that’s not only relevant to their immediate needs but also anticipates future challenges and opportunities.
I keep my community engaged by offering exclusive content that aligns with their interests. This includes early access to new products, behind-the-scenes looks at my creative process, and invites to private events such as workshops, live streams, and networking opportunities. My 21-Day V.I.P. Experiences and special virtual events, like the Neuro-Glamming Summit, give clients a chance to dive deeper into my brand’s philosophy and benefit from expert panels, interactive sessions, and unique resources tailored to their journey.
For me, a project doesn’t end when a service is delivered. I maintain long-term relationships by providing ongoing support and follow-up consultations, ensuring clients feel valued and heard even after the main work is completed. I also check in periodically to see how they’re progressing and offer further assistance or adjustments as needed. This dedication to long-term client growth helps build trust and a sense of partnership.
Building a horizontal, interconnected community is at the heart of my brand. I regularly host events—both online and in-person—such as workshops, Q&A sessions, and live discussions, where clients and followers can engage with each other, share experiences, and learn from experts. These events are designed to be spaces for collaboration, growth, and support, fostering a sense of belonging among my clients. I find that when people feel they are part of something bigger than themselves, loyalty naturally follows.
As an AI enthusiast, I utilize technology to create seamless and engaging experiences for my clients. From personalized email sequences to AI-driven design previews, I use cutting-edge tools to keep clients informed and involved. My AI-powered branding packages allow clients to visualize their ideas before they’re finalized, making them feel directly involved in the creative process. Additionally, I use social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube for regular updates, thought leadership, and direct engagement with my audience.
Feedback is a crucial component of how I maintain relationships. I actively seek client input, not just at the end of a project but throughout the process. This turns my services into a co-creative experience, where clients feel like they have a stake in the outcome. I also share client success stories and case studies, celebrating their achievements as part of the broader community. When people see themselves reflected in my brand’s narrative, it builds a deeper sense of connection.
I focus on consistent storytelling across all channels, whether it’s my podcast, newsletter, or social media. This storytelling isn’t just about sharing my own journey but also amplifying the voices of my clients and community members. By highlighting their stories, challenges, and successes, I make it clear that my brand is about real people with real experiences. This authentic narrative helps in building an emotional connection that goes beyond what traditional marketing can achieve.
Ultimately, fostering loyalty is about delivering what I promise—whether that’s helping clients discover their authentic selves, transforming their brand, or making an impact through leadership. I take pride in providing high-quality, impactful services that exceed expectations, and I always focus on the tangible results client’s experience. Seeing those results, and knowing they come from a place of authenticity and care, keeps my clients coming back.
By combining these strategies with a genuine passion for my work, I’m able to foster a strong sense of brand loyalty that’s built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to personal and professional growth. My clients know that they are not just another name on a list—they are part of a vibrant, evolving community that values each individual’s contribution and potential.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey of experimentation, authenticity, and persistence. When I first started, I had to navigate the challenge of presenting a brand that defied traditional niches. My content was multifaceted—drawing from neuroscience, fashion, avant-garde design, human rights, and personal empowerment—so I had to find a way to blend these diverse elements into a coherent and compelling online presence. Here’s how I did it, along with some advice for those just starting to build their social media presence:
From the beginning, I decided to lean into my diverse passions rather than hiding them. I shared content that resonated with my own multi-dimensional interests: insights on branding, bold fashion choices, leadership advice rooted in neuroscience, and advocacy for human rights. I focused on creating a brand that was unapologetically authentic and uniquely mine, knowing that my true audience would resonate with that authenticity. This meant staying true to my avant-garde style and not watering down my message to fit conventional expectations.
Advice: Be authentically you. Your unique combination of skills, interests, and passions is your strength. Don’t be afraid to show all sides of who you are. Your authenticity will attract the right audience—the people who resonate with your story and values.
I made a point to share content consistently, focusing on quality over quantity. My posts were designed to add value, whether it was offering branding tips, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of my design process, or explaining the science behind leadership and emotional intelligence. I used a mix of formats—videos, graphics, storytelling, and infographics—to keep things engaging and fresh. The key was to provide content that my audience would find useful, educational, or inspiring.
Advice: Consistency is key, but consistency doesn’t mean posting every day. It means showing up regularly and offering content that provides real value to your audience. Determine what your audience cares about and create posts that educate, inspire, entertain, or solve a problem.
Livestreams became a game-changer for me. I used platforms like Instagram Live and LinkedIn Live to have real-time conversations with my audience. These sessions were less about selling and more about connecting. I hosted Q&A sessions, shared personal stories, and even brought guests on to discuss topics I was passionate about. This not only built a deeper connection with my followers but also showed the human side of my brand. I also launched my ‘Glitter and Gab’ livestream and other video series, which allowed me to visually express my brand’s bold style and expertise.
Advice: Don’t underestimate the power of video. Livestreams and video content are fantastic ways to connect with your audience in a more personal way. Even if you’re just starting out, embrace video—it doesn’t have to be perfect. Authenticity matters more than polished production.
I leaned heavily into storytelling, not just about my journey but also highlighting the stories of my clients, community, and broader movement for authenticity. I shared the challenges I faced trying to fit into traditional niches, how I overcame them, and why I built my own avant-garde branding approach. This transparency created trust and made my audience feel connected to my mission. I made sure my social media was a space for dialogue, not just a platform for broadcasting information.
Advice: Use storytelling to engage your audience. Share your struggles, successes, and lessons learned. Let your audience see the real you, and tell the stories that have shaped your journey. Stories create emotional connections, and those connections build loyalty.
My goal was always to build a community rather than just gather followers. I responded to comments, answered DMs, and participated in meaningful conversations. I encouraged my audience to engage with each other, creating a space where everyone’s voice was valued. I hosted virtual events, like my Neuro-Glamming Summits, that fostered a sense of belonging and allowed like-minded people to connect.
Advice: Engagement is a two-way street. Don’t just post and forget—interact with your audience. Respond to comments, ask questions, and create opportunities for them to connect with you and each other. Focus on building a community, not just a follower count.
I built relationships with other creators, experts, and influencers who shared similar values or interests. By collaborating with others, I was able to introduce my brand to new audiences who were already primed to appreciate what I had to offer. Whether it was through joint livestreams, guest blog posts, or being featured on other podcasts, these collaborations were key to expanding my reach.
Advice: Network and collaborate. Find people in your industry or related fields who align with your values and explore how you can work together. It’s not about competition—it’s about collaboration and amplifying each other’s voices.
I paid attention to trends that aligned with my brand, such as the ‘Allur’ and ‘Demure’ trends on TikTok. While I was more aligned with the ‘Allur’ trend, I made space for both and found ways to relate them to my own content. Hashtags were also a powerful tool for me; I used them strategically to reach the right audience while staying true to my brand’s message.
Advice: Use hashtags wisely and pay attention to trends that make sense for your brand. You don’t have to jump on every trend, but leveraging relevant ones can help increase your visibility and engagement. Create a balance between popular trends and your unique content.
It’s taken time, trial, and error to build a loyal following. Not every strategy worked the first time, and I had to be patient and adaptable, learning from what didn’t resonate and refining my approach. I allowed myself to evolve, knowing that as my brand grew, so too would my audience. Being open to change while staying grounded in my core values has been a critical part of my journey.
Advice: Be patient, adaptable, and willing to evolve. Social media growth doesn’t happen overnight. Stay true to your values, but don’t be afraid to pivot and try new things when necessary. Experiment, learn from your analytics, and refine your strategy as you go.
Building an audience on social media isn’t about chasing numbers—it’s about creating a meaningful connection with people who resonate with your vision. It requires authenticity, consistency, community, and a willingness to put yourself out there, even if you don’t fit into a neat category. If you stay true to your passions, share valuable content, and focus on real engagement, your audience will grow organically, reflecting the authenticity you bring to the table.
