We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jenesa Jean-Marie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenesa, thanks for joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?

If I do a sale I’ll try to slip some free treats inside. For example like my Halloween sale I put candy in each person bag. Or if you order over $100 I’ll give you a free treat.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My business is based off of cannabis and art. I myself is a heavy smoker for medical reasons so why not create a business that I can work with it and have just as much fun. I have different parts within this one business called Jenaihighsweetsllc. My boyfriend actually gave me the name off of a joke. I cook everything from treats to meal plates all cannabis infused the only thing non cannabis infused is drinks which I do on occasion. . I also work with resin. I create ashtrays,memorial pyramid pieces,coasters,etc. cooking is my passion so why not infuse my meals. It’s my own accomplishment that screams my name and nobody else’s. To know I built that business from the ground up is what makes me proud.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

My clients are my best source. The saying “Tell a friend to tell a friend” is a true saying. Those that support you will do all the talking for you. Yes you can post content all day long someone will see it but word of mouth goes a long way

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I think me constantly promoting myself helped build my reputation. Going to things like popup shops,celebrity events,or even doing basic showings helped a lot.
