We recently connected with Jenay Leger and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenay, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Learning how to interview people well on my podcast. I think I’ve gotten really good at interviewing people and asking the right questions to intrigue my audience. I have also learned a lot about content creation. It’s something I’m always thinking about and I love being creative. I sometimes have creative blocks but am able to push through.
I can also talk about what my parents did right. I grew up in a very sex positive environment with open communication. My parents always taught me if they don’t know, they can’t help me. I was always very honest with my parents about what I was doing and that allowed me to have transparent conversations and they allowed me to do what I wanted because I was always honest. It has now taught me in life to always bring up how I’m feeling with my partner/friends/ anyone.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Jenay Leger is a certified relationship & life coach, and the host of her podcast “My Naked Mindset” which is a sex/taboo/dating/mental health topics podcast. She originally created this podcast after going on 20 first dates in 2019. I wrote about each date in my phone about whether I liked the guy, any detisls about the date and how it went. On her podcast she creates a safe space for guests to come on and share their experiences & expertise. She is all about destigmatizing topics people normally don’t speak about! I have a self love gratitude journal on Amazon!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Getting to share peoples stories on my podcast, and shed light on things people normally don’t talk about.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Creating beautiful content that’s eye catching and using hashtags. Not writing too many words on a post. Creating reels that hook in the audience. Be consistent and commenting on other people’s posts will have your content show up on their feed.
