We were lucky to catch up with Jen Worcester recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
I have always loved making things beautiful, giving new life to something old or tired. Pair that with my love of houses and I am in my happy place! My husband and I have always worked hard and tackled countless projects to make whatever house we were living in at the time, the best home it could be. We wanted that house to reach it fulls potential. Throughout the years I was asked repeatedly to help others in their homes, to makeover rooms or update their style via furniture and accessories… I was good at it and it was something I thoroughly enjoyed! A couple years back my husband decided to dive into the Real Estate market as his full time job. He took that leap of faith and it was a success. After watching and learning from the sidelines, I decided it was something I really wanted to go for myself. I thought it would be so great to help people find the place they call home, to help walk them through some of the biggest transactions they will ever make! I knew that real estate and design could go hand in hand. I wanted to be able to offer it all! I can help you find the house, and I can help you see the vision for all the home could be, then I can execute it!
So I took the dive! In the middle of raising 3 kiddos, homeschooling, working at the salon (I have been a hairstylist the last 16 years) I decided to enroll in school to get my real estate license. With life’s crazy schedule, I had to do a self paced course where you are basically on your own learning. I spent the next 8 weeks deep in study mode, spending countless hours on school work, quizzing, memorizing….and finally finishing that school and passing the test! It was a very proud moment.
From then on I just hit the ground running! Working hard to network and get my name out there and associate it with real estate and the design services I was offering!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
So who I am…. I am a 35 year old mother to three amazing kids that I still don’t understand how I received the privilege of raising! They truly are my entire world, and the coolest little people you could meet! I am married to my high school sweetheart! We will celebrate 16 years of marriage in November (we got married as babies, but I would do it all over again!) I have been working as a hairstylist since I was 19 and that has allowed me to meet and work with some amazing people throughout the years. My husband Shane and I decided once we started having children that we wanted to homeschool them, and we have been blessed to be able to do that, and are currently in our 8th year. Life is super busy and super fun. So a couple years back, in the midst of all our craziness and busy schedules I decided I wanted to make a change and challenge myself.
I have always been creative and loved giving anything a makeover lol! Whether that was working at the salon behind the chair, making my clients look and feel beautiful. Working in friends and family’s homes to make their space perfect for their individual needs. I am always looking for ways to make things better. I knew I could take that passion, that hobby that I loved so much as turn it into a real business. I acquired my real estate license and paired it with interior design to be able to offer the total package to my clients. Let me help you buy the home and then we can make it into the space that’s exactly what you want! And maybe you love your current location but you need a refresh, its time to make some changes. That’s where I come in! My goal is to help you fall back in love with your space! My motto is “everyone deserves to love the place they call home”. Home should be your safe place, where you can be your truest self and where you find the most peace! Let me help you accomplish that.
I think spending the last 16 years working with the public, especially working for women in the salon setting, has greatly shaped me and helped in this newer business venture. I have a great ability to listen to my clients, to truly hear and understand their wants and needs. I am not here to be a salesperson. I am here to help you accomplish your goals! Its not about me, its all about how I can work for you! Whether that’s in the real estate market, with helping you to buy or sell, or on the design side where we are creating the space you love! There’s no greater satisfaction to me than the looks on my clients faces when they have found “the one” that they will call home, or when they walk into that updated space and its everything they had hoped for!
I truly love to serve people and make them happy! It brings me such joy! I get to relish in my creative outlet and help others in ways that maybe they just couldn’t do themselves. I want people to say they felt comfortable with me, they trusted me and that I helped them achieve their goals.
So in addition to being able to help you buy and sell property, when it comes to design, there’s a variety of ways I can help. From simple one room makeovers to major home remodels, I can do it all. If you are just needing help picking paint colors, shopping for furniture and accessories but that stresses you out, then I can handle it. If you need major renovations, I can oversee that project and work with you picking floors, lighting, cabinets, countertops….all the major things and we can put together the space you envision…and if you lack the vision, don’t worry, because I’ve got that too!!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
You know, I really want my kids, especially my daughter, to know that you can do anything you set your mind to as long as you are willing to work really hard! And that its never to late to make a change. I was in my 30’s when I decided to jump into launching a new business. I had a successful career, and. full time home life raising kids, running around to all their practices and competitions, homeschooling, church involvement….but I wanted more for myself. I wanted to prove to myself that I could make a change and turn my passion into a successful business! I want my kids to know that they can have it all! I want my daughter to know that she can be a wife, mother, and still make time for herself and be a successful business woman!!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
World of mouth is my greatest resource. Providing quality customer service is extremely important to me, as it feels like its harder and harder to find these day! I think once people have worked with me and realize that I will do what I say I will do, and I try to always be available to my clients, answering their questions, working around their schedules, they see that I am willing to work hard and to be there for them. People have trusted me with their hair throughout the years and they were willing to trust me with their homes when that business started! I do not take their trust lightly! Its a huge honor to be able to help with such major life moments, the buying and selling of their homes. If I am working as their designer, I understand how big of a deal it is to be invited in to their personal space and be trusted. Like I said, I don’t take it lightly!
