Jen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?
Starting Patterson Consulting Group (PCG) marked the beginning of an exhilarating chapter in my professional journey. From the outset, I partnered with Madison, a seasoned HR professional whom I had collaborated with in the past. Madison’s expertise and support proved invaluable as we embarked on this venture together. Leaving behind my corporate CHRO/CXO role, I took a leap of faith, driven by the belief in our vision for PCG and the impact it could make.
The decision to transition into entrepreneurship wasn’t made lightly. It required courage, dedication, and a willingness to embrace the unknown. With Madison by my side, we navigated the challenges and uncertainties inherent in starting a business. From building our client base to refining our service offerings, each step of the journey presented its own set of obstacles and opportunities.
As we charted our course, we embraced the highs and lows that characterized our entrepreneurial experience. The journey has been a roller coaster ride of learning, growth, and resilience. Through perseverance and collaboration, we transformed PCG from a concept into a thriving consultancy.

My career journey began in retail leadership before transitioning into the realm of Human Resources. It was during this transition that I recognized a crucial need for prioritizing people in strategic business decisions. Fueled by this passion, I founded Patterson Consulting Group (PCG) to address this imperative. At PCG, our mission is clear: to ensure that organizations prioritize their most valuable asset—their people.
