Alright, Jen thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?

In the midst of a life altering battle with Covid pneumonia I found solace in an unexpected place-aromatherapy. My journey began in the hospital, where I spent a month battling pneumonia and respiratory failure. My body was tired and my oxygen levels would not stay up, my heart started showing signs of stress. It was decided I would need to be intubated. While intubated I ended up waking up. My dedicated ICU nurse introduced me to the power of essential oils. These oils became more than a scent, they became a big part of my recovery, offering a sense of calm during a turbulent time.
I was determined to share this healing experience with others. I quickly realized that essential oils come with a hefty price tag, making them inaccessible to many who could benefit from their therapeutic properties. Could I create something affordable and accessible that could bring the same comfort?
A year after my hospitalization, my sister in law took me to a candle making workshop. As we immersed ourself into selecting fragrances and crafting our own candles, she casually mentioned, “You should open a candle store.” Initially I dismissed it as daunting – starting a business sounded overwhelming. Yet, the seed was planted and I wondered it it would be possible.
With some new found determination, I decided to purchase my first candle making kit and dive in. What followed was a journey filled with unexpected challenges and learning curves. Crafting quality candles is far more indicate than I had imagined! Yet, with each trial and error, my passion for creating products that combined aromatherapy and affordability grew stronger.
Today, my boutique stands as a testament to my resilience and the healing power of fragrance. Each candle is carefully crafted to not only illuminate spaces but to uplift spirits and evoke memories. Everything in my store has helped my recovery in some way. It is a reflection of my journey from patient to entrepreneur.
Through my boutique, I strive to make aromatherapy accessible to all, believing that everyone deserves the healing benefits that still aides my recovery. What began as a personal journey through illness has blossomed into a thriving business driven by a passion to share creating, the power of fragrance and comfort, one candle at a time.
