We recently connected with Jen Boyle and have shared our conversation below.
Jen, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
It was my first real life job interview. I was in my senior year of college. A large company came to conduct interviews at my school, and my professor chose me to meet with this company. I prepared 0%. My dad told me to go in like I already had the job. I walked in so confidently, told them who I was and what I would do for their company. A few hours later, I received a call that I had the job. The day after I graduated, I moved to the west coast and started working right away. I arrived very excited and began my first month of training. There were 15 of us that started at the same time from around the United States. We were all put into the same uniforms, given the same clipboards, and wore the same shoes. We were told to wear little to no makeup, no colorful finger nail polish, no chewing gum, and to become a robot. We were taught to be a personal fitness trainer in a specific way. Whatever knowledge I learned in my upbringing wasn’t wanted because they insisted it be done their way. After many scoldings for chewing gum and training the way I knew how to train since I was an athlete, I was sent to my manager’s office. We proceeded to have weekly meetings.
Six months in, still in trouble for being myself, I was sent to the director’s office. I was told that I needed to dye my hair brown to fit in because no one else was blonde. They also said I needed speech therapy because I had an accent. I sat their furious but calmly enough and said, “I used to respect you for being a women in business and at your leadership level, but now I’ve lost all my respect for you. I will eventually own my own company one day, and will do everything in my power to not become you.”
The lesson I learned was to always be true to myself instead of molding into something I wasn’t. I knew I wanted to guide people to use their hearts and their specific skills to take care of others.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I operate from a place where ‘YES’ is always the correct answer. Driven by my passion for helping others, I founded MORE Lifestyle Management in 2012, delivering high caliber personal assistant, household management, concierge, and relocation services throughout Colorado, Florida, Arizona, and California. We’ve been recognized for exceeding expectations and seamless customer service. We provide clients both the time and freedom to enjoy the things they cherish most.
Time is the most valuable asset we have. We give time back to our clients so they can spend it with their families, grow their businesses, take a vacation, have a date night, and so much MORE.
The things that set us apart is learning the client better than they know themselves. We proactively DO instead of ASK. We have a team of home managers that knows each client, led by executive home managers in each state. We maintain home guides for each client because consistency is key. We then develop a customized plan to take care of our clients.
I’m proud of the relationships we’ve built, the work ethic of my team and their willingness to implement the processes I’ve developed over the years. Most of all, I am proud that 90% of our clients are from personal referrals.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Our drive for excellence.
Our reputation has been built on doing what we say we are going to do. Honesty. Loyalty. Ownership of our wins and losses. We don’t stop until the client is happy.. We come from a place of love while taking care of the people in our community.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Over the 12 years in business, we have developed great relationships with professional sports teams, wealth managers, agents, athletes and their families. We have various partnerships in this industry that know the level of service we provide and refer us over and over again. They count on us to develop and maintain systems in each household, and replicate this in each new property they invest in. We are able to move a client at a moment’s notice by working with the teams and the people around them.
