We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful JeMarcus Caldwell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with JeMarcus below.
Hi JeMarcus, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
If someone was to ask me if I thought I would be here right now with my own photography & videography business about 4 years ago I would completely tell them no. It all just happened so fast. I started off by making a small graduation video for my sister that included family members from all over back in 2021 to ending up having a business that’s being talked about in different states. Once people close to me encouraged me to do something with my knowledge of video editing, I just went at it quickly. I never took any classes, I never signed up to take any courses that could help, none of that. I was always having to borrow cameras and lenses up until I was able to get my own. Everything that I have learned throughout the year and a half is all self taught. I’m still learning new things as we speak. Things like learning how to manage a business, things I needed to make a business successful and many more helped me along the way. Once I made my website and put it out to the public, everything has been up ever since.
JeMarcus, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
If you don’t know me already, my name is JeMarcus Caldwell and I am a 21 year old from Garland, Texas. I am a full-time college student as well as the owner of “ShotsByJmo”. What sets me apart from other photographers and videographers is that I am self taught. Even though I’m young and that a lot of people go for the older and more experienced photographers, my vision is one of a kind. I’m not the type to brag about anything, I let my work speak for itself.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have 2 social media accounts, a personal one and a business one. My personal account has way more followers that my business account. So what I do is I promote my business on my personal account. Because if I was to post anything on my business account not as many people would see if. By posting on my personal account that builds my audience and gets people to follow my business page.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
For my clients, email and text messages will be automatically sent out to them thanking them for their corporation and for booking with me, as well as that to refer me to others.
