We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeffrey Ilechie Aka BlessitsJeff. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeffrey Ilechie below.
Jeffrey Ilechie, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
Let’s go back to 2016 when I first started my Youtube journey. I was a food content creator so I would record top-tier recipes and post them online. After a while, I began to have too much food left over so I would just give some away to my family, neighbors, or random people from my social media. It then got to a point where I had about 5 people asking for the same meal and as much as I wanted to split it between them It was not feasible.
I then had to tell them I had 4 other people who wanted this same meal, and then unexpectedly a bidding war ensued. I honestly never foresaw that happening but It was such a great feeling knowing that people would pay to eat my food.
From here, I obtained the necessary certifications and licenses needed to sell and cater food, and from that point it has been an amazing journey.
I have been blessed to have celebrities and athletes as my customers,

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Jeff ilechie and i’m the face behind BlessitsJeff. BlessitsJeff is a brand that focuses on positivity while in the kitchen through the form of teaching recipes, cooking, showing kitchen tips/tricks, & etc. There’s also a sector of BlessitsJeff that focuses on catering and private dining.
My cooking background is quite unique, having no formalized culinary training I have been cooking for about 10 years but I started to pursue the culinary arts in 2016 seriously. During that period, I used to post a majority of my cooking content on Snapchat. Fast forward to 2020 during the pandemic, I created an Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok account and started to create and post grandeur content daily. From there I was blessed to have numerous viral recipes which opened many great doors.
From this point, I was consistent with the grandeur content and in 2022 I was blessed with the opportunity to be on The Food Network for the premiere of their brand new cooking show, Big Bad Budget Battle. It was an amazing experience, they flew me out to California and lodged me in a 5-star hotel. I was on the second episode where I competed against two other home cooks from Louisiana.
I can be found on social media [Youtube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat] and the handle is @BlessitsJeff.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
In order for me to start BlessitsJeff, I needed upfront capital for all of my recording content equipment from Sony Alpha cameras, to Mac book pro’s, computer applications and the list continues. In order for me to get that initial capital I started to sell plates of my food; Mac & Cheese, rasta pasta, chicken wings, lamb chops, and etc. After my first year, I was able to save $10K and I used a portion of that to purchase my equipment.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I am blessed to have a little more than 500K followers across my social media accounts and the two best pieces of advice that I can give are ; 1) Be consistent in posting grandeur content and 2) Have the discipline to know that anything can be content and content is key. Have fun with creating content. When you do something that you truly love, it will be so worth while.
