We were lucky to catch up with Jeffery Mitchell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeffery, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
One thing that my mom did right was forced me to play the piano. I really didn’t want to… yet she she kept pushing and praying for me to learn. Because of that I’ve been allover the world playing and sharing my talent for the last 14 years.

Jeffery, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a pro-musician turned entrepreneur. I started my professional career in 2008 playing alongside Birdman & Cash Money. I went on to play for Ryan Leslie, Lil Kim, & Trina Rockstarr. I also toured with Tinashe and was musical director for Mario and the the very first Millennial Tour in 2019. I’ve produced for many other artists as well like Moniece Slaughter of Love & HipHop Hollywood.
Since Covid, I’ve pivoted my focus on various business ventures. I created. a live music agency Called The Vibe Agency, I launched a logistics & freight transportation Company called Mitchell & Sons Transportation LLC. I own and breed Italian mastiffs and French Bulldogs under my kennel name, ‘Mitchell Mastiff Kennels’. I also have a commercial cleaning company called Mitchell Services LLC.
We’re very busy right now to say the least!

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I think non-creatives don’t always grasp the importance of taking major risks. Very seldomly do ppl achieve personal goals without taking risks. we must be able to accept failing in order to succeed.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When covid began, it shut tours and most live music events down. I still had to make a living. Covid caused me to stay still long enough to focus on things I’ve always wanted to do in business. with covid being such a terrible experience for everyone I was able to find my passion and dream.
