Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeff Williamson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jeff, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
For many of us, the Covid season was / is trying. Our routines and what was considered normal became abnormal. In August 2020, my wife was hospitalized with the virus and was touch and go for about two weeks. I’m thankful that God healed her and made her whole. A lot of times, there are “Hail Mary” prayers and wishes that happen when we are tested and have our backs against the way. This wasn’t the case for me directly but I did want to live my life more intentionally, gain more training to help others and serve in a larger capacity than I was prior to that moment. My wife’s Covid experience was the wake up call that I used to live far more intentionally.
Jeff, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Coastal Leadership Coaching helps people become better versions of themselves by tangibly turning goals into reality through coaching and training. We will work to positively challenge you through growth and learning, guiding you to become a more dynamic leader personally, professionally and philanthropically
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Atomic Habits by James Clear is a fantastic read. Clear from the start speaks to the reader as a normal person with tangible ways to achieve success, one small bite at a time. In one of his chapters, he mentioned the power of improving 1% each day. His example was the English Tour de France team. They sought out new leadership and made very small changes along the way. Anything from tweaking their uniform, helmets and seat. The diet etc.
There is a lot to takeaway from this as I’ve experienced in the past, if I don’t see significant results right away, I can (and have) become discouraged and quit. If we stay mindful for the long term goal knowing that it will take small incremental achievements, we are more likely to see success than if we are only focusing in on that final product.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
As the saying goes, “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” To lead well, means to influence well. You cannot influence a group that you know nothing about. People will not know that you care unless you listen and are transparent with them. Building a reputation in this industry takes an intentional empathic mindset…something that I try to stay self aware of daily.

This is a new venture for me so I do not have “action shots”
