Public Relations
Jeff has worked in the design field in one capacity or another since 2001. Originally a fine arts major, he became enamored with typography and layout, and never looked back, eventually earning his BFA in Graphic Design from San Diego State University.
Before collaborating in the independent design space with Alexis in 2016, Jeff worked at a local design agency in San Diego’s East Village for several years. Over the course of his career he has worked on projects across a multitude of industries, always excited to put on a new hat that he hasn’t previously worn. He is constantly looking to push himself and continue growing as a creative, whether that’s learning a new skill in the design space, or picking his way though a banjo medley of The Allman Brothers Band.
An avid explorer of cafes and coffee shops, especially after living in Seattle, Washington for two years, he can often be found with a latte and laptop discussing the merits of heavy metal music and its impact on the larger creative sphere with any poor sucker willing to listen.
Services
We work with leading organizations, as well as emerging businesses, to clarify their objectives and create tangible experiences that will set them apart from the competition and connect with their customers. This includes strategy, identity, design systems, communications, interactive media and environments, and encompasses both print and digital deliverables.
Our Approach
We are less of a design firm, advertising agency or marketing company, and more of a team of creative problem solvers, idea generators and visual storytellers. We are passionate about coming up with solutions that go beyond the expected. About telling stories that are smart and interesting.
About designing systems that people want to touch, share, and talk about. We don’t just produce branded materials, we create the foundation for brands to become icons.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We met several years ago while volunteering on the communications team for AIGA’s Y conference in San Diego. Over the course of the campaign we discovered that we just worked really well together, and as a second community collaboration presented itself in the form of TEDxSD, we volunteered our time and skills to that cause as well.
With a couple of conferences under our collective belts, we decided to collaborate on some client work, starting small to test the waters, but ultimately ending up as a full creative partnership that’s now going on it’s 5th year.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
We strive to surround ourselves with people and organizations that inspire us as designers. By far, the best practice for new business is to get out there and engage! We love to research and then attend unique and boutique conferences, community events, art openings, the list goes on. From that more select company we are mingling with, amazing conversations seem to organically arise and it just feels more aligned and natural.
It may be a fellow creative that brings us in as part of a collaboration or a marketing director looking for design partnerships for their company or brand. We always keep an open mind and let the positivity of the relationship help guide talks that could lead into client work. So (especially now that we can again!) get out there and connect. Attend events (all kinds!). Ask questions. Build relationships that translate to long-term connections and awesome referrals.

Great article Jeff. You and Alexis sound like an amazing, dynamic team . I am really so very proud of you. Don’t know if you remember this but, when you were a very young boy, you drew me a beautiful, lifelike drawing of a turtle that stayed on display on my fridge for years. We knew then you had a gift! Congrats and good luck to you both.
