We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeff Schwartz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeff below.
Jeff, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
In 2017 I was asking myself the question, what is my Dharma, my purpose in life. I wrestled with the question for a few months.
One day I was talking to my friend Arun Gowri from India who is an incredible human being.. He is regarded as a thought leader and a spiritual beacon in our community. He had asked me how I was and I told him I had been struggling to find my Dharma. What is my purpose in life. He looked and me and said, “My dear boy that is simple, you are here to spread joy and make people happy. I stopped and thought about it and ge was right. I was already unknowingly fulfilling my Dharma by playing music and being myself.
Once I realized I was already in alignment with my purpose everything got easier and started to make sense. My mission is spread joy and laughter to the world. I do this by trowing parties, playing music and producing Comedy, Television and Movies.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
When I was 17 I went to the Conservatory of recording arts and sciences in Tempe Arizona for audio engineering and music production. At the end of the program they provide you an internship. The internship coordinator had told me there’s only three places where Music is profitable in the United States. New York City, Nashville, or Los Angeles. I had friends in Los Angeles, and it seemed like the best fit. I moved to LA in 2003 and got an internship at a small voice recording studio called Nova productions in Studio city. I went on to start my own Production Company Paper Productions in 2008 and Tastemakers Media in 2017. I work doing Production during the week. Our biggest client at the moment is Kevin Hart and Hartbeat Studios. We produce the content for his satellite radio Channel 96 on Sirius XM.
During the Weekend I DJ clubs and big events. My Clients for DJing include, Space X, Snapchat, Soho House and many more.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
One of my biggest asset by far is remembering names. When I start a new job or project, I make sure to get every single person‘s name and write it down with a little piece of information like where they’re from or what their favorite song or music is.. then next time I see the people I make sure to call them by name and look them in the eye. The power in acknowledging people, and calling them by name is overlooked and often underrated.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I just finished Grant Cordone’s 10 X mentorship that I really loved. I am currently reading Relentless by Tim S. Grover ( Michael Jordan’s trainer) and Shari Lesser Wenk.
