Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeff Kubes. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jeff, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful in the art industry, I believe it takes a combination of various elements, including talent, passion, dedication, and a willingness to make sacrifices, particularly in terms of time and energy. Success in any field requires a significant investment of one’s resources, and the art world is no exception.
Throughout my own artistic journey, I have experienced firsthand the sacrifices required to achieve success in trying to grow my own brand. On a daily basis I have to sacrifice personal leisure time and devote countless hours to building a system that is hopefully going to outlive myself and future generations of my family, often working late into the night, earliest hours of the mornings and dedicating all my weekends towards practicing and making progress on my long term goals.
I immerse myself fully in the creative process, putting other commitments on hold and making significant adjustments to my daily routine. While it is mentally demanding and physically exhausting at times, I recognized that these sacrifices were necessary to meet the expectations of the project and deliver the desired outcome.
Moreover, beyond individual projects, the art industry itself demands a significant investment of time and energy. Artists must continually push themselves to improve their skills, experiment with new techniques, and stay up-to-date with trends and developments in the art world. This requires dedicating substantial time to research, practice, and self-education.
In addition to the creative aspects, artists must also allocate time for the business side of their art careers. This includes marketing, networking, maintaining an online presence, participating in exhibitions, and engaging with potential clients or galleries. These activities often consume valuable time and energy that could otherwise be spent solely on creating art.
While the sacrifices of time and energy may seem daunting, they are integral to the pursuit of success in the art industry. They reflect the artist’s commitment and passion for their craft. By investing this time and energy, artists are able to refine their skills, build a strong portfolio, establish a presence in the industry, and ultimately increase their chances of achieving their artistic goals.
However, it is essential to strike a balance and avoid burnout. Artists must find ways to recharge, prioritize self-care, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Recognizing the sacrifices required and managing one’s time effectively are crucial for long-term success in the art industry.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Greetings, everyone! My name is Jeff Kubes, and I’m a passionate 22-year-old artist specializing in the captivating discipline of drawing. Artistry runs through my veins, and I’m thrilled to take you on a journey into my artistic world. From a young age, I discovered my deep connection and natural talent in artistry, and it has become an integral part of my life. Art allows me to channel my thoughts, emotions, and observations into visual form, creating a tapestry of expressions on paper or canvas.
What truly sets me apart as an artist is my unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of artistic excellence. I possess an unwavering perspicacity which enables me to perceive beauty, detail & inspiration in the most unexpected places.I find inspiration in the delicate interplay of light and shadow, the intricate details of everyday life, the enchanting hues of nature’s palette, and the unique stories that unfold around us.
“A society grows great when men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.” This profound Greek quote encapsulates the essence of my artistic journey and my unwavering commitment to leaving a lasting impact. As I embark on my creative path, I am driven by the understanding that true greatness lies in building something that extends beyond my own existence.
With each stroke of my pencil and every piece of art I create, I strive to contribute to a larger system—a legacy that will endure beyond my lifetime. My sheer indefatigability fuels my desire to establish a creative foundation that will continue to flourish, inspire, and bring joy to future generations.
In this pursuit, I am focused not only on creating art that resonates with viewers in the present, but also on laying the groundwork for a sustainable artistic ecosystem. I seek to foster an environment where artistry can thrive, where emerging talents can find support, and where creativity can flourish unhindered.
By sharing my artistic process, insights, and experiences, I aim to inspire other artists to embrace their own journeys and contribute to the artistic tapestry of our society. Through collaborations, mentorship, and the cultivation of artistic communities, I hope to create a system that outlives me—a network of artists who carry forward the torch of creativity, enriching the cultural landscape for generations to come.
My relentless pursuit of excellence is driven by the belief that the impact of art extends far beyond its immediate reception. It has the power to transcend time, leaving a profound mark on individuals and society as a whole. By investing my energy and passion into creating a sustainable artistic legacy, I aspire to contribute to the growth and greatness of our collective artistic consciousness.
As I continue on this artistic journey, I remain committed to nurturing a creative ecosystem that outlives my own presence. I believe that by planting the seeds of inspiration, fostering artistic growth, and encouraging collaboration, we can cultivate a society where art flourishes and enriches the lives of all who encounter it.
At this point in time I currently only sell Canvas and Poster prints of my artwork, quality products sourced from ethical partnerships, however I am working diligently on expanding my product base to include multiple types of clothing and stationary accessories, such as Shirts, Hats, Bags, Notebooks, Puzzles & More! This expansion will take quite some time however it will be worth the wait!
Thank you for joining me on this endeavor, and I invite you to be a part of this collective effort to create a lasting impact through art. Together, let us plant the trees under whose shade future generations will find inspiration, beauty, and the enduring legacy of our artistic contributions.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Throughout my management and entrepreneurial journey, my thinking and philosophy have been shaped by a diverse range of resources that have provided profound insights and inspiration. These include impactful books, videos, essays, and other valuable resources that have played a significant role in my development. One transformative book that greatly influenced my thinking is “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries. It introduced me to the concept of iterative development and the importance of validating ideas through continuous experimentation. This book fostered in me a mindset of learning, adaptability, and customer-centricity, which has been instrumental in shaping my approach to entrepreneurship.
Another influential resource that deeply resonated with me is Simon Sinek’s video series called “Start with Why.” Sinek’s exploration of the power of purpose and the significance of understanding the underlying motivation behind our actions left a lasting impact. It reinforced the importance of having a clear vision and mission, both in my artistic pursuits and entrepreneurial endeavors.
In addition to these resources, I have sought wisdom from renowned thought leaders such as Peter Drucker through their insightful essays and articles on management and leadership. Drucker’s emphasis on effective decision-making, innovation, and building a culture of excellence has significantly influenced my approach to managing my artistic practice and navigating the business side of the art industry.
Incorporating these resources into my journey, I have developed a philosophy that embraces innovation, customer-centricity, purpose-driven action, continuous learning, and the belief in the ‘7-Year Mindset.’ This mindset, inspired by successful business owner Alex Hormozi, emphasizes the power of consistent effort and dedicated work towards our goals, knowing that results will manifest over time.
By combining the wisdom gained from these influential resources and embracing the ‘7-Year Mindset,’ I have been able to forge a path that is driven by learning, resilience, and a long-term perspective. This integrated approach guides my decision-making, goal-setting, and overall approach to my artistic and entrepreneurial endeavors, ensuring that I continuously evolve and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social media is an essential aspect of establishing a strong online presence as an artist. The story of how I built my audience began with three fundamental principles: Authenticity, Honesty, and Kindness. I believe that being true to myself and embracing my unique artistic voice has played a significant role in attracting followers who resonate with my work. When I first started building my social media presence, I focused on sharing my artwork genuinely and consistently. I stayed true to my artistic vision, never compromising my style or creative expression to cater to trends or popular demands. By showcasing my authentic self through my artwork, I was able to attract an audience that appreciated my unique perspective.
In addition to being genuine, I found that engaging with my audience was crucial. I responded to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner, fostering a sense of connection and community. I actively participated in conversations, shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of my artistic process, and offered insights into the stories behind my artwork. This interactive approach helped build a loyal and engaged following.
Another important aspect of building an audience on social media is consistency. I maintained a regular posting schedule, ensuring that my followers had fresh content to engage with. Whether it was sharing completed artwork, progress updates, or snippets of inspiration, I made a conscious effort to provide value and keep my audience engaged.
In terms of advice for those starting to build their social media presence, I would emphasize the importance of authenticity. Be yourself and create content that truly reflects who you are as an artist. Share your journey, your inspirations, and your unique perspectives. By staying true to your artistic voice, you will naturally attract people who find your work interesting and resonate with your artistic style.
Remember, building an audience on social media takes time and dedication. Focus on creating authentic content, engaging with your audience, and staying consistent. As you remain true to yourself and your art, you will attract an audience that appreciates your unique perspective and finds you interesting.
