We were lucky to catch up with Jeff Brotherton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeff, thanks for joining us today. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today.
If I could start my career over I would have started with more curiosity and less anxiety. Into and out of college I didn’t have a clear picture of my strengths and passions. I chased what I knew with little to no curiosity toward what I didnt.
Starting over, I would tell myself to relax and spend time exploring areas that interest me. Try new things. Be brave. Put yourself out there. You might just find something you love rather than something you’re willing to do for a paycheck.
Jeff, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mantra is ‘make it simple but significant’. If it’s not simple it can be messy, confusing or distracting. If it’s not significant it loses purpose. Finding a solution that accomplishes both is always my goal no matter what the project is.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Creating beautiful solutions to problems that drive revenue for the company and delight for the user.
