We were lucky to catch up with Jeevan Dhaker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeevan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I’m happy as an Artist. I love art so I keep creating content. It is the reason I wake up 4 or 5am, work all day, and still not get tired of it. I also have a team of creatives who helps me in reaching the goal.
I used to have a part-time job. I quit my job in July 2022 to pursue my dream. When I was thinking about quitting, I was worried about not having a stable income. But I did better financially afterwards. Now, I never think about a regular job and I’m thankful that I took the right decision at right time of my life.
Thanks to my friends and family for supporting my decision.
Jeevan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I always had passion to do something different in my life. Firstly, I focused on my education as that was the only tool available for me, apart from my family’s agriculture business, at that time. After I completed my Masters in Geology, I decided to start a YouTube channel and started learning about it. I had ZERO idea about making videos. Didn’t even know that people use microphones while recording video, so my first video turned out SOOOO BAAAAD.
That time was like artistic awakening for me. I started learning music (guitar, piano, vocals), Acting, modeling, content creation, etc. to figure out what really I want to do and what is the best option for me pursue. It really introduced me to so many new things that I never thought of before. I felt amazing and driven.
Then I moved to USA and my life slowed down for a while since it took some time to adapt myself in a new culture. As my friends and family say, I’m a quick learner. It didn’t take much time to start back again.
I started working part-time to support my work. Working a regular job and managing my creative career would take about 12-14 hours a day. Sometimes it would feel a lot to manage everything. I felt like I was stuck.
This was one of the darkest times of my career. I was switching jobs and work hours to accommodate my creativity but it didn’t work for long. Finally, after thinking like 100 times I decided to quit my job.
I’m a full time freelancer now. I work as an Actor, Model, YouTuber, and Social Media Influencer. I also do event marketing for some change. I feel like I’m much happier and healthier now. I LOVE WHAT I DO.
Now, my goal is to establish myself as an Actor in the film industry.
Stay tuned with me for more updates.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, there’s a big goal driving me as an artist. It is to Respect Humans, Love Animals, and Protect Nature/Environment. If I explain it further, Engaging in human interactions, Living a harm-free lifestyle for the animals and environment.
I live this goal and it gives me endless inspiration.
Hopefully, I will be able to address these issues on a bigger platform.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is to stand for what you believe. It gives me freedom to make content that I’m passionate about and raise social awareness.
