Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jedediah White. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jedediah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Naming a business can indeed be quite challenging, but for me, it was a meaningful process. Studio Ancla is my freelance business name. “Ancla” is the Spanish word for “anchor,” which holds a special significance for me.
In the Bible, Hebrews 6:19 describes hope as an anchor for the soul. This imagery resonated with me deeply. Life can often be stormy, filled with uncertainties and challenges, but having this anchor of hope helps me to see clearly beyond the storm.
When I was brainstorming names, I wanted something that would not only inspire me but also reflect the core values of my business. The idea of an anchor seemed like a positive symbol for grounding myself and for helping other businesses to stay anchored as well. It represents starting with a strong foundation, staying true to your ideals, and navigating through the ups and downs with confidence and hope.
Jedediah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Since I was very young, I loved to doodle. In fact, all through school, I was often called out by my teachers for drawing when I should have been taking notes. I was on the school paper in high school, sold acrylic art pieces at the local coffee shop, and pretty much enjoyed being creative in all its forms (including creating music). After graduation, I landed a job with a small travel agency as their in-house web designer and graphic designer. I gained a lot of on-the-job experience with them over the 20 years I was with them.
Eventually, I began freelancing, taking on small website jobs, logos, and other design projects. I went through various business names, the latest (and hopefully last) of which is Studio Ancla. Studio Ancla specializes in creating strong, memorable brands through comprehensive branding and graphic design services, as well as expert WordPress web development.
As a full-stack web developer and graphic designer, I provide a wide range of services, including website development, logo design, advertising graphics, and complete branding solutions. My work focuses on helping small businesses achieve their goals, whether it’s a polished website, an eye-catching logo, or impactful graphics for their advertising efforts.

Whether it’s designing a stunning website that attracts more visitors, creating a logo that perfectly encapsulates a brand’s essence, or developing a cohesive visual identity that enhances a company’s market presence, I strive to make a meaningful difference.
For potential clients and followers, I want you to know that at Studio Ancla, you’ll receive personalized attention and bespoke solutions tailored to your specific needs. What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
During the pandemic, I was still working with a certain travel agency that blended its services primarily to Jehovah’s Witnesses. Before the pandemic hit, they aided fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses to visit the World Headquarters in New York and also to enjoy museum tours that focused on artifacts and how they tied into Biblical accounts. Of course, COVID made these kinds of in-person tours difficult if not impossible. So my wife and I pitched the idea of virtual tours; using Zoom to present Bible-based tours about a variety of subjects and themes. And it worked! In fact, we were not alone – many other businesses of a similar nature started doing the same. So that was great. And when lockdown came to an end, these tours continued. Unfortunately, our employment with this company did not (due to financial difficulties on their end), so we launched Meek Travel in December of 2023 to continue offering virtual Bible tours – this time, of our own design. And it’s had great success! Because the tours are donation-based, it’s NOT become our full-time business, but it does have a healthy number of social media followers and interest. We present our virtual Bible tours each month to hundreds of Jehovah’s Witnesses, their families, and friends across the globe.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to bring ideas to life and see them resonate with others. Whether it’s through a compelling piece of graphic design, an artfully designed website, or a captivating social media post, knowing that my work can inspire, inform, and connect with people on an emotional level is incredibly fulfilling. Each project is a unique journey, allowing me to explore new concepts and techniques, and the satisfaction of learning new skills along the way is very gratifying.
