We were lucky to catch up with Jeanette Davila recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeanette, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Once I became a mom, it was all that I wanted and I just wanted to be present. In the process of figuring out motherhood, I lost my drive and purpose on who I was outside of being a mom. I start searching for a community and a support system, and everything I found was always attached to a service, product or business. I didn’t truly find what I was searching for so I decided to create it myself.
That’s when I launched “Rooted in her – A Women Empowerment community with quarterly events” in South Florida. This event is the true definition of Women Empowerment. Designed to provide a support system and safe haven for all women. To find Motivation and Encouragement while connecting and networking with one another.
I gather a Panelist of Women who come together under one roof to share stories about their struggles and biggest achievements and touch on subjects that we all struggle with and face on a daily bases.
I am also huge on Supporting Local Vendors that are Women-Owned Small Businesses. I provide a space where they can join us to get more exposure/awareness of their brand.
I can finally say that I’ve found a sense of drive and purpose coming back ever since I started this movement. Not only do we meet at quarterly events, we also have a Whats app chat for support and encouragement along with a facebook group to connect and impact as many lives possible.
My mission will continue to be bringing more awareness to our Rooted In Her community and support as many women owned small businesses that I can.
My long term mission is to book a huge conference room filled with thousands of women from all over the world lifting each other up regardless of race, background, career etc.
“No women should do it all on their own” and ” There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish”.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jeanette Davila. I am Cuban/American. Among many titles I am a Fiance and a mom of two handsome little toddlers named Liam and Miles. Growing up I’ve always had a passion and heart to help others. Always finding ways to help women with their health, branding, beauty, overall being a support system for them. I’ve pivoted in many directions from pursuing my acting, modeling and singing career, to becoming an influencer for big known companies, fitness and health coach, to a stay at home mom. Fast forward, Today the founder of Rooted in her and Rooted by J.
I am currently focusing on bringing more awareness and exposure to the Rooted In her community. Also, I’ve partnered with a company as a lifestyle manager and I am the owner of Rooted By J helping business owners, individuals and companies with their social media, branding and marketing strategies.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Nothing in life comes easy. But it’s definitely worth fighting for! I’ve had to break patterns with a lot of things that no longer served me. I was dealing with depression along the way which is exactly what pushed me to start this movement. I knew I wasn’t alone.
We all get caught up on everyone’s highlights when scrolling on social media. Who’s doing it better? who’s living their best life? How far ahead are you from where you ” should” be? But no one is talking about it! No one really shares their story or their struggles because as humans we feel that makes us vulnerable.
But what we don’t realize is that stories connect us, hearing someone’s struggle makes us realize we aren’t alone. We don’t have to fight alone. Your voice can save a life. It can impact someone’s life forever.
I found myself struggling to try to fit into society, into what is trending. But I’ve realized that we can’t expect the world to change if we aren’t willing to stand up and be heard!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am such a positive happy person. I mean it! I could be having the worst day and yet I will still manage to smile and go out of my way to make someones else day brighter. Now, when I was dealing with depression, I did not want anyone to know or have access to me. I created boundaries and detached myself from certain people and things. I learned in the process to connect with my inner self, to cut certain things and people out of my life, I did a-lot of praying and self love. But in the process I found myself. I went to the root of the problem and dig deep in. I was patient and allowed time to heal. I knew I could do it and that when I did I will have a story to share and help someone else. This is what my resilience through the years as shown me and helped me prepare for my rooted in her community.
