We recently connected with Jean Titus and have shared our conversation below.
Jean , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents were both in the health field. My father was a doctor and my mother was a nurse so, from an early age, I’ve always had a connection there. I could read at a very early age and by the time I was 7 I had read all my father’s medical journals and was having real conversations about health with him. He always treated me like a person, not like a kid. My mother was strict with me and definitely shaped the person I am today so I do attribute a lot of my success to her. I would say there are 3 things that have helped me the most in my journey. First, the discipline, values and consistency my mother instilled in me which always keep me going despite the obstacles in my path. Secondly, the medical knowledge and life advice I received from my father who always talked to me about medicine but also about the value of investing in and caring about people. And lastly, the time I have invested in acquiring the knowledge I have today and the fact that I found a way to make my living by helping others. I only succeed when people succeed and that is an amazing feeling.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have done many things in my life. For example, I worked as a financial advisor for some of the biggest names on Wall Street, I have owned several businesses, I’ve invested in real state, etc. but today I help people build the one asset that money can’t buy: GREAT HEALTH.
Exercising and overall fitness has always been a part of my life. I even was a college athlete but, believe it or not, there was a time when I was about 237 pounds – that was mostly muscle but regardless, I was carrying a lot of excess weight. So, I started researching about different health and nutrition related topics, including detoxing, and applied the knowledge I gained from research. That way I turned around my health and I now help others do the same. Knowledge by itself is not power; you have to apply it for it to be powerful.
Look, I am not a personal trainer. I mean, you can find a million videos of folks who say they can teach you the ultimate workout plan. Truthfully, you’re only in the gym for about 1-2 hours a day. The rest of the time, those 22-23 hours, must be invested in what matters most: your diet and lifestyle. If you eat crap, you’re going to look and feel like crap. If you’re serious, just as you make time for your job and everything else important, you will make time for your health and wellness.
There’s a lot of false information out there and there’s more money in keeping people unhealthy. But when social media got a hold of me and the volume became unbelievable, I began to market the self-preservation program I initially created for myself. I eventually made it into a plan and then into a business. That’s how Titus Unlimited was formed.
Nowadays, I have over 550,000 combined followers on social media, and over 100 million views on several of my videos, including “Age is just a number”. My health and wellness platform continues to grow at a fast rate, and I am the sole owner of “Unlimited Supplements”, a full all natural and high-quality supplement products line. My latest wellness program is my “Unlimited Wellness” app which helps my clients with personalized meal plans, workouts, motivation and overall health & nutrition information. I also have become a highly sought-after expert, advisor, coach, trainer, and motivator, and I offer educational and life-changing advice for healthy living, fitness, biohacking, and overall wellness on a daily basis.

Have you ever had to pivot?
As I mentioned before, I’ve always been an athletic and active person but I never knew the things I know now about food and nutrition and how it affects our health and wellness. Food and lifestyle habits literally are what makes us or breaks us.
After the death of my mother in 2002, my perspective on life completely changed and I pivoted to focusing on improving my life by investing in my health. She was what I considered a healthy person that maintained a good weight and did not eat unhealthy foods or lived an unhealthy lifestyle. It perplexed me how she was able to get sick with cancer and what led to it. I wanted to know what had gone wrong because both my parents worked in the medical field and in principle led a healthy lifestyle. So, I spent the next decade researching the topic and realized that 95% of diseases can be traced back to health and lifestyle choices: our food is our medicine but can also be our poison. I realized that in these current times people were contracting diseases way more often than before and I really wanted to find an explanation. It is the choices we make when we pick our nutrition and our habits that make a difference between a person being healthy or sick and I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives for the better. If I didn’t save my mother, at least I could save someone else’s.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Again, I’ve done many different things in my life. I’ve had a very successful career and made a lot of money but I always felt like there was something missing.
Once I found my purpose, there’s nothing I would want to do more than this and I would choose it over and over again because what I do is not only good for me and my own health. I help the people around me to be the better version of themselves and the feeling I get when I know that thanks to me someone genuinely feels better than ever before, that they don’t need their prescription drugs anymore, that they are healthy, have more energy, sleep better, feel food and are finally living their best life, is something money can’t buy.
I only win when people win and that’s just something I wouldn’t change for anything.
