We were lucky to catch up with Jean Nunez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jean, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story tells how it will be the living counter argument to the statement that you have to be what people tells you what you’re meant to be, if you can dream it and you have clear goals, you can achieve it, you can make it. Work hard, practice hard, fail, win.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Music it always have been an important aspect of almost every human being, although I wasn’t raised in a family of musicians, I did was exposed to rock music, many things influenced me to pick up an instrument, the tv shows I watched, the games I played, everything was soundtracked just perfectly, every single piece forged my personality and my vision of never giving up and taking everything to the limit. I picked up a guitar for the first time and what started as a dream of being lead guitar of an amazing rock band, it came in the shape of little gigs in my hometown to gigs in bigger venues in all of my country, and to win festivals and contests.
Every experience pushed me to find new horizons and do what I love, playing guitar.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Actually there is a story that actually now is a fun fact, back then when I was learning songs to play and getting pretty good at it, a band came in and ask me to do a cover for a popular song for a gig to came, but in a different key, I knew the song but to think and transposing the chord progression was new for me, then at the gig although I did well most of the song I kinda messed up the solo and it terrified me in a way that I almost dropped music,
A few hours after the show I just figured out that this is all about, fail, practice, show up, win and this is just not in music or playing, is about life.
Even the limitations of wherever the place you live is not excuse enough to hold you back, if you want something, you just have to chase it, you will figure it out.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
“If you do it on your own, is better”
Not always, sometimes you have to believe that other people has what it takes to help you to become a better human being and professional.
I thought that nobody had the time or effort to teach things as the way I wanted, not being humble limited me to taking guitar lessons way earlier. Although I became a very competent musician by my own, it was when I took lessons that I actually jumped to professional.
