We were lucky to catch up with JD Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi JD, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
At a very early age, I would say like maybe 5 years old, I’ve always wanted to entertain everyone! Whether it was through music, comedy, creating ideas and songs for my cousins and I to perform during the holidays or just random. So around my teenage years it became serious for me! Once I reached my early 20s, I decided to step out and do it!
JD, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m really just a big ball of fun! Most people call me an atmosphere changer, because whatever environment I’m in…you best believe you’re going to leave feeling inspired, feeling happy, and uplifted. Musically, I’ve been involved since I was young singing in my church, elementary through serving in the military, and with different people in my city and beyond. Anything that involved the ARTS, interest me! And I love to eat, so I definitely had to include that! So I would visit different music venues, restaurants, open mics, poetry slams, and video record short snippets and took pics of the environment and that’s what started The Sunday Takeout in June 2019. And now it has expanded to where I’m able to sing and also provide services at the same time and coming up on year NUMBER 4 this June. The services that The Sunday Takeout offers are hosting, media coverage, promo/advertising and also vocals. What sets me apart from others is my energy, my consistency, my ability adapt to any atmosphere, my attitude, and my love for people. What I’m most proud of recently, is landing a role in a JF Bailey Production which premiered on this past Mother’s Day! It is a Stage Play called One Mama. And also the name I’ve created for myself!
What I want my followers to know is that, you can catch me hosting brunch at The Fivee Bistro Bar every Sunday from 11AM-4PM, on Mondays catch me with the Love Session at The Free Man at 10PM, and with #HashtagMandi and #TheeSQUAD all over the DFW! And if you need an atmosphere changer for your next event or need promo/advertising, and media coverage you can follow me on all my social media platforms.
