JC , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I noticed a gap in the marketplace for truly customized fitness and nutrition programs. Many online programs claim to be customized, but they only ask a few basic questions about goals and weight. They don’t dive into important factors like blood work and individual body mechanics. I believe it’s crucial to build the fitness and nutrition plan around a person’s lifestyle, so they can stick to the program and achieve success.
I had already been providing personal training in Los Angeles for a decade, delivering this personalized experience to my clients in person. At this point I wanted to scale T3 Body it up so I can help and impact as many people as possible. A fitness transformation is not just about the physical aspect, but it also affects your relationships, mental well-being, and spirituality. By improving these areas, the overall quality of your life improves as well.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I entered the fitness industry at the age of 19 when I started competing in fitness competitions. I quickly excelled in this field, becoming the youngest person to ever turn pro in the WBFF. At 22 years old, I moved to Los Angeles and started my own personal training business, which experienced rapid growth. I was honored with the title of Santa Monica Trainer of the Year and successfully transformed the lives of numerous clients.
My client base primarily consisted of business owners and executives, so I became well-versed in understanding their unique lifestyles and responsibilities. Their training programs and nutrition plans couldn’t resemble those of an average person because their lifestyles were distinct. This led me to develop my T3 Body system, which catered to their specific needs. Additionally, I competed in powerlifting competitions, winning four and setting numerous records. My work has been recognized in various publications, including being featured on the cover of Men’s Fitness magazine twice.
Helping my clients become the best versions of themselves is not just a job for me, but a true passion.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I believe the main thing a business owner has to learn if they want to scale is how to transition from being a technician to a manager, and from a manager to an entrepreneur. Reading books like the E-Myth, along with other business and self-development books, has proven to be highly beneficial in my journey as an entrepreneur and business owner. I firmly believe that your progress in business is directly linked to your self-development, which is why I strive to read at least 1 to 2 books per month. These books may cover topics such as business strategies, personal growth, or mindset, as it is crucial for entrepreneurs and business owners to acquire the necessary skills. I don’t believe that businesses necessarily face ceilings; instead, it is often a lack of self-development that hinders their growth. The solutions to your challenges and the keys to unlocking your next level of scale can be found in books, courses, or from individuals who have already faced and overcome similar obstacles.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
“The E’Myth,” “Outwitting the Devil” by Napoleon Hill, “Maximum Achievement” by Brian Tracy, “”Your Next Five Moves” ” by Patrick Bet David,, “$100 Million Offers” by Alex Hormizi, Good to Great, and the list goes on and on. However, I would say that these are some of my favorite business and mindset books that have truly helped me excel. They provide a solid foundation and teach you how to view your business as an actual business, rather than just a job. They also offer guidance on strategizing, crafting irresistible offers, and the importance of mindset and visualization. Having all the skills in the world won’t be enough if you are burdened by limiting beliefs, self-doubt, and a lack of self-love. These factors can make it incredibly challenging for you to achieve the best things in life.
