We were lucky to catch up with Jazzy Kash recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazzy, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Growing up I have always been inspired by singers, dancers, actors, and models and I always looked up to creative people in my family wishing I could be like that one day. I had trouble finding my place in the creative world simply because I didn’t know what my talents were and had trouble believing that I was an artist. I remember telling artists I wish I could be creative and confident like them. I would play around behind the scenes with graphic design, poetry, sewing, and styling but I wanted to become an innovator and someone who could birth something from nothing. I realized that I had birthed a creative journey in my pursuit to finding my outlet. I discovered that I was truly a creative and my artistict expression of choice was becoming an entreprenuer. I wanted to bring my talents to the world in a way that truly allowed me to be creative and unique, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurship and discovered the many ways I could express myself creatively with content marketing online. This journey has allowed me to become more confident in my own natural talents and drives me to discover more things that I can do and learn about myself. As I continue to grow my brand, I am becoming more and more creative and my artistic path has led to a fulfilling career professionally.
Jazzy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As an art enthusiast in college inspired by creative artist pursuing their dreams, some without an education to fall back on. I was amazed at the passion and tenacity to go after something that no one could see and believe that they could make it happen. I was woken up to the fact that we can create the life that we dream of. Being a dreamer I was fascinated and wanted to help anyone who was called to pursue their dreams as a PR manager while in college and connecting creatives on projects. I grew to love the field and wanted to learn more of how I could help artists stand out, and make a living from their passions. I worked with local artists in the DMV area and with the rise of social media, it was the perfect way for me to make a career of my talents that I grew to learn that I obtained on my journey. I always knew I was a great writer, speaker, and leader but I never knew that entrepreneurship could allow me to be a creative. Before I knew it, I was a walking testimony and people wanted to know how I made it so far. I learned that being a student of life and staying curious to keep learning and exploring new experiences will keep you on the top of your game. As I have helped others, I have learned the skills necessary and I am now growing my personal brand as Jazzy Kash aside from KASH ICONS because now that I have discovered my own talents and skills, I am trusting my creative skills as an author, speaker, and coach/mentor for inspiring entrepreneurs/public figures. The best part about having a personal brand is that I have the trust of my clients and support as I grow my community of like minded creatives.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is that you can live for a bigger purpose and you find that you are favored for being obedient. It is a very spiritual decision to make to pursue a career that is not always stable but is rewarding beyond materials. The great thing is that with my education in business I am able to find ways to turn my creativity into cash and help others.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My journey was not a path that I originally was on but through living and learning, I found an inner desire to obtain more and no matter what I tried like getting jobs and helping others businesses, I would always be redirected to focus on my own goals. Many times I was confused at being rejected over and over when I just wanted a “normal” life. There was a calling on my life that was difficult to stay focused when everyone around me was telling me to go against what I knew was the truth. I couldn’t work for someone because I had made so much progress, it always left me feeling incomplete and unfulfilled and as soon as I would redirect, I would be blessed. Thats how my resilience got so strong as my faith got stronger. I saw that there is a such thing as destiny and when you are in alignment, nothing can stop you. So I owe my resilience to my ability to trust God’s Plan and be a willing servant to spread the news of my calling, and be a walking testimony.
