We were lucky to catch up with Jazzlyn Ifeji – Pryor recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jazzlyn, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The name was developed because I wanted my craft to last forever, not only by way of art work but the knowledge I share with my clients to last forever. I was at school one day, brainstorming, attempting to find synonyms for forever and craft. Then the lovely name of Abiding Artistry came to life. And here we are constantly building onto the foundation that has been established.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Just call me “herbal holistic essence.” I’m a nature lover and love doing things the natural way, as close as possible. So when I got sugared for the first time, while pregnant, I fell in love with it and it’s transparency. It was a relief to not deal with any added chemicals and on of top that, the texture and discoloration was improving my skin. That fueled my desire to become an esthetician, so that I too, could sugar others and assist them on their skincare journey . While in school, I was enlightened significantly about the skin and how our internal systems and our epidermis are a mere reflection.
What sets Abiding Artistry apart, is that it provides a holistic experience and from the moment you walk in, the ambiance will capture you. For every service that is scheduled, we serve with love and care. Abiding Artistry prides itself on capturing the best talent to serve with love and care, which has solved many problems for our clients.
I’m very proud of how Abiding Artistry has developed over the years to continuously serve our clients by providing them with an exceptional spa experience. Which includes holistically pampering and nurturing them, as well as, educating them about their skin.
Our services include sugar hair removal, facials, body treatments, massages, and fit mix fitness classes.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Being authentic throughout every step of providing exceptional service and educating my clients, going above and beyond.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Abiding Artistry was never a side hustle, I just had to take the risk and make a sacrifice with an industry that I’ve always wanted to be part of. It was necessary for me to do what I love doing and the money was only a byproduct. Initially, I was working for a baby gear company part time. 3 months into Abiding Artistry. As time progressed, my clientele begin to grow, but I wasn’t ready to take that leap and be full time. Until, my main job emailed me with an ultimatum. The company was a blessing and I appreciated their flexibility, but I had to either go full time with them or resign. Wow, I immediately knew that it was a sign for me to take the leap, and I’m so happy that I did. After I took the leap, I opened up my availability and the floodgates busted open with appointments.
A key milestone was partnering with 2 of my former esthetics classmates to open our first suite together. The next predominant milestone, was opening my own brick and mortar spa and hiring the right employees to assist me with the development and growth of Abiding Artistry, which we are always looking for the best people.
