The current system, though well-intentioned, often needs to improve at being the great equalizer, particularly for children with artistic, creative, and entrepreneurial inclinations.
My belief in this stems from theoretical considerations and a profoundly personal experience with my daughter, a remarkable twelve-year-old who is already an author, podcaster, entertainment journalist, actress, and kidpreneur. Her journey has illuminated the stark reality that traditional education can inadvertently stifle the potential of young minds brimming with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
We unlock a ripple effect beyond individual success by empowering children with the skills and resources to pursue their passions from a young age. I am a former Corporate Superstar turned High-Level Executive Business Coach, and I’m eager to share more about the journey that brought me here. What truly brings warmth to my heart is the success I’ve found in my professional endeavors and the beautiful tapestry of my life as a wife and mother.
I have done so much work that I am proud of in my career. Among my most significant accomplishments is the privilege of working alongside my incredible daughter, who, at such a young age, has stepped into leadership and embraced the entrepreneurial spirit. In the ebb and flow of life, some moments redefine our existence. For me, that pivotal moment came when I lost my father. The grief was not just a heavy burden on my heart; it was a storm that swept away everything I knew, leaving me adrift in a sea of uncertainty.
In the aftermath of his passing, I found myself unable to summon the passion and presence that had once fueled my life. The doors of my business closed, the vibrant atmosphere of my creative community cowork space faded, and the pages of my Ph.D. program and coaching sessions turned to dust as I withdrew from everything around me. I was lost and broken, unable to show up for anything, including myself.
In those dark days, the journey to rediscover my passion became a marathon rather than a sprint. I grappled with self-doubt, a formidable adversary that had taken root during years of absence from my professional life. It took me years to gather the strength to rebuild and face the daunting task of starting over.
The path to resurgence was paved with challenges. No clients, years away from the coaching arena, the fear of beginning anew, going back to school, and this time, with the responsibility of not one, but three children. To add another layer to the challenge, I found myself in a foreign place, far from my immediate tribe of family and friends.
Starting over was the scariest thing. The weight of fear threatened to paralyze me. Yet, deep within, a quiet resolve refused to be drowned out. I embarked on the journey of rebuilding with a determination born out of resilience.
Fast forward to today, and the triumph is sweet: a growing business, a 4.0 PhD Business program, managing my daughter’s burgeoning career and skillfully balancing the roles of wife and mother. The journey, though daunting, became a testament to the power of purpose and the resilience of the human spirit.
