We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jazmyn Bradford. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jazmyn below.
Jazmyn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope to build a legacy that shows others how to #BeTheResource for those around them. We all serve as a resource that can provide further insight and support to someone around us. I’m always trying to provide tips, referrals and support to those that need that ONE piece of information to change their circumstances.
If we all lived with a #BeTheResource mindset, there would be a lot more collaboration, unity and equity in the world.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
J.B. The Resource Agency is a capacity building agency by providing administrative, project management, and digital marketing support to nonprofits and community based businesses. We are currently a team of 3 service agents that share a collective 15 years of experience in the field. Since opening the agency in March 2022, we have supported 10 community leaders to increase client communications, strategic planning and brand awareness by 150% within 4 months. Our agency provides clients with an opportunity to call on support as needed and have more time to serve within the organization.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I knew a virtual assistant service was needed for community based organizations, however, I didn’t realize how high the demand would be and the quickness in the responses to our proposed services. I’m usually able to balance many commitments at once, however, I started to notice that serving community leaders were a priority.
Therefore, I had to remove a few commitments from my plate, such as I had step down from other high-demand leadership roles and be more intentional in delegating to my teams. This was a learning curve as it’s hard for me to trust others with my workload, however, I have been able to Focus On My Genius- which is something I always encourage my clients to do.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Yes!!! I was on TikTok using a “In 2023, I will…” filter, which told me I would build a new side hustle. A few weeks after, I became interested in virtual assistance and the more I learn about this field, I am able to make more connections to my primary career field of social work.
As a social worker, I am committed to finding solutions that will be improve the circumstances for community. As a virtual assistant, I have been able to transform my side hustle into a capacity building agency that allows community based organization Focus On Their Genius behind the work as my team handles the tedious tasks of administration, project management and marketing. I thoroughly enjoy the tedious tasks, which results in less stressed clients as they are able to enjoy working WITHIN the organization — instead ON their organization’s operations.
