Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jazmine Robinson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jazmine, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
When it comes to taking a risk, I always think back to my car crash in 2018. I thought as I went to my physical therapy “If I spend my life contemplating on decisions, I’m going to waste my life on ‘possibilities’ and what if’s”
I started applying all my creativity to my livelihood and it took me on a series of decisions that eventually landed me in LA, made it possible to change my name (QT JAZZ to Jazmine) and also make money full time from music and acting. It was a “God Push” that felt like supernatural momentum and the more I pushed the more it felt like God and his crew was backing me up.
Overall that’s my constant takeaway, “God will send backup when you double down”
Jazmine, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I had “one of those moms” in the show biz. The one that slide my headshots under agencies doors so I could get signed. The one that took me to every dance class I could be in. And the one that helped me cultivate my artistry since I was a toddler.
I got my first commercial was at 3yrs old in Atlanta GA. Eventually I started hosting tv shows and diving into music when I became a pre teen. I went on to perform at high schools the South and gaining traction on YouTube for the videos my mom would post of my show and me in dance class.
Years later, when the The Great Xscape Tour came around, Tamar Braxton gave me the opportunity to dance for her! We traveled the country and it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced. I knew then “I want to perform and tour all my life”
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Being able to spread light through my music, videos and shows I’m apart of! Meeting people and hearing the joy, connection and community we’re all apart of is a blessing!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I gained a lot of following by posting dance class videos. That was something I could sustain and do great.
Consistently making videos YOU would actually want to watch is key to growing a audience you can sustain.
