Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jayson Benjamin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jayson, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.
The best boss I ever had would have to be my parents. They were not only my parents but also my first “bosses” in life. I believe that parents are usually the first authority figures we have to listen to, long before we step out into the real world. They taught me to be kind, honest, and always treat people the way I want to be treated. My parents’ guidance shaped how I approach life and work, helping me learn how to adapt and behave in different situations.
Teachers were my second bosses—they continued the lessons of discipline and responsibility that my parents started. Both sets of “bosses” gave me the foundation I needed to succeed in life and in my career.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always been passionate about real estate, starting from a young age when my parents introduced me to their entrepreneurial ventures and the world of contracts and property sales. I love helping people find their perfect homes and guiding sellers through the process. What sets me apart is my ability to build strong, lasting relationships with clients. I approach every transaction with honesty, transparency, and a commitment to making the experience smooth.
I also offer an open door policy where clients can text, call, or email me anytime. They often reach out to ask about real estate updates or just to chat. My approachable manner makes it easy for people to talk to me. From my previous government job, where I interacted with hundreds of people daily, I learned the joy of making others smile. It’s a pleasure to bring that same positive energy to my real estate practice.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
To manage a team and keep morale high, focus on building strong teamwork and a positive environment. Encourage laughter and support among team members. Remember, as Michael Jordan said, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” When everyone feels valued and enjoys working together, your team will achieve great success.
Let’s move on to buying businesses – can you talk to us about your experience with business acquisitions?
I haven’t acquired another firm or business yet, but I’m gearing up to launch my own. I plan to enter the market with a fresh approach that will make established names like Century 21, Keller Williams, and Coldwell Banker take notice. My goal is to bring my unique vision to the industry, and I’ve been encouraged by others who believe I’ll fit right in. The process is exciting, and I’m looking forward to making a significant impact with my brand.
