We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jaymie Solomon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jaymie below.
Jaymie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
It takes grit to be successful. A willingness to keep going even if you face adversity. Be open to trying new things and don’t be afraid of failure. You have to be passionate about the work you are doing. When you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work. Always find ways to make your clients feel special.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My husband Jeff and I have always dreamed of owning our own business together. We both bring a diverse set of skills with many years of experience in the business world that lends itself to managing a business together. We stumbled upon the Card My Yard franchise opportunity during the height of covid when we ordered a birthday sign for our son to celebrate him. We loved his response to it so much that we had to inquire about a franchise for our area. We were definitely nervous about opening in the height of the pandemic but saw the advantages to doing so. We have now been in business for over two years and we are thriving. We feel what sets us apart from others is our customer service. We are willing to go above and beyond to make our customers happy.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
We rely heavily on new customers from google search engine. In addition, we have a heavy referral base when receiving new customers. Half of our orders also come from retaining existing clients. We also rely on social media marketing to help contribute to getting the word out about our franchise. In addition we attend networking events and do sponsorships at schools. We really try to be known in our community connecting with our potential customer base.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
We keep in touch with our clients through email marketing, social media, and other ways to stay connected. We often do mailing campaigns that remind our last clients that they ordered last year for a birthday and that birthday is coming up again. We like to send notes touching base with our regular active customers. At times we do various special campaigns that offer an incentive for folks to book orders at that time by offering a percentage off their order.
