Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jaymi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jaymi , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name “Jaymi Knows Fun” was created because I wanted to inspire people to find fun in the mundane. I moved to Delaware from Florida in 2020, and that was a huge lifestyle shift for me. I moved from a city and state where there was always something going on, to a city and state that you have to look a little harder to find fun events and things to do. I started to find some amazing hidden gems, places to go and things to do. This inspired me to share with others through content creation and show people that living in Delaware actually can be fun. Delaware is honestly so under rated. There is so much to explore. As an ex-flight attendant, traveling is my passion and it’s a huge part of who I am. I was born in Long Island, New York, but raised in Clearwater, FL. My family was always back and forth from New York to Florida. I moved to Thailand after college to teach English. It was incredibly fulfilling. When I come back to the states, I decided to pursue my passion of traveling through a career. I became a flight attendant. I was a flight attendant for 3 years. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic in 2020 and the uncertainty of air travel, I was furloughed. However, this was the serendipity that led me to where I am now. Fast forward to now, I met the love of my life, we bought a house in Delaware and we have a three-year old son together. One of the reasons I love living in Delaware, is because it’s such a central location on the East Coast. It’s a perfect location for people like me, who still crave traveling and exploring, but also love having roots. It’s a great home base for East Coast day trips. I love that I can live in a peaceful, country-farm, surburbia – and still have some of the biggest cities in the world just a short drive away. Philly is only 30 minutes from me. New York City and D.C is only 2 hours. Then, you also have the beach and the shores that are just a short drive away too! There is SO much fun to be found and explore, and that is what my brand is all about! Finding, exploring and sharing the fun! My mission is to inspire everyone who visits my page to have fun, explore the unknown, try new places and things, live well. I want to spread positivity and always leave people better than I found them after they scroll.

Jaymi , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I grew up watching the Travel channel and Food Network. Two things I can never get enough of: good food and traveling. If I could describe my vision, I would say, I aspire to be the East Coast millennial mom version of an Anthony Bourdain x Guy Fieri love child. Bourdain and Fieri are two of my biggest inspirations in food and travel. I love how they are authentically and unapologetically themselves, and I share their passion for travel and food; and traveling to find the best food! Whether it be events and family friendly festivals, local hidden gem restaurant’s, or must-visit bucket destinations, my mission is to encourage people to find the fun,!!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal and mission that drives my creativity and brand is inspired from my love of traveling, food, and journalism. Growing up, I was ALWAYS watching food network and the travel channel. My biggest inspirations are Guy Fieri and Anthony Bourdain. However, I’ve never seen a woman do what they do. I began my content creation journey with the goal in mind to be a woman millennial mom version of Guy Fieri or Anthony Bourdain. I hope to inspire women and other moms to tap into their creative foodie content and fun travels too!!!
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
One of my favorite stories to share is about this quaint little mexican place I found in a strip mall in Delaware, called “La Parillada.” I tried their food and was immediately WOWed. As a self proclaimed “foodie journalist” I knew right then and there I had to feature them on my page. I reached out to the owner and was met with no response. However, the food was too delicious, I was determined to get on the owners radar and offer him a feature on my page! I knew this food and restaurant would go viral. I used google translate to translated my pitch from english to spanish and that’s what worked! It turns out, he wasn’t ignoring me, it was just a language barrier! I visited them and did content for them. I told him “prepare to be very busy after this is posted.” Fast forward – the video went viral! He had mentioned wanting to open up a second location, and because of the video I posted on social media, he will be able to do that. Now, other aspiring content creators continue to visit him and review his food. All because I found this small business, loved the food and knew it hard to be shared. The power of social media will forever amaze me!
