We recently connected with Jayme Shiarla and have shared our conversation below.
Jayme, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
I am a disrupter in a world that tells everyone they need to be financially free and work for themselves. My main focus is to help my clients at their core…and create sustainable results. The problem at the surface level may be their job or their lack of passion for what they do. Yes, changing to something new can be bold and exciting, but something deeper isn’t being addressed. Money, fame, power, and pleasure will never leave you lasting fulfillment. I cannot say this is advice and work that I have done on one particular client, it is what I do with every client. Fulfillment comes from relationships, serving others, and faith. So my advice to clients? Focus and place your efforts in the areas that bring you those three instead of the prior four.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The birth of Jayme Shiarla Coaching stemmed from a diverse amount of life experiences, personally and professionally.
Work/life balance was something I didn’t believe existed and burnout was something that occurred regularly. I had an addiction to over-achieving and thrived in the identity of being obsessed with work. It got so bad, that health issues took over and I even attempted to end my life. I lived in a constant state of “I’ll be happy when..,” chasing a feeling that never seemed to happen. And if it did? It never lasted and I was sucked right back into chasing.
There was always the next goal that I SWORE was going to finally make me feel fulfilled in all that I hustled for, but that satisfaction never came like I expected it would. It was never enough…I never felt like I was enough.
Resentment and comparison followed, making me feel even more exhausted, pouring that much more energy into trying to prove myself through my work.
My personal life suffered. My mental well-being suffered. I was sprinting in place, getting nowhere fast.
Something had to give. This was not sustainable.
I decided to shift my efforts somewhere different. Just like putting training muscles in the gym,
I found the brain worked the same way. I had to face the facts— the way I was living was not living at all.
It was hard, but remaining in my current state of mind was even harder.
I “trained my brain,” left my ego behind, and finally found fulfillment with a brand-new perspective on how to balance it all.
Now, I help others do the same. I work with men and women who are high-achievers, struggling with this very thing.
Together, we uncover what has them stuck, uncover the “BS” belief system that is their security blanket and current “mental wiring,” and lastly, teach them sustainable habits and tactics that will allow them to experience the fulfillment in the life they worked so hard for. The best part is, you aren’t left to do it on your own. You have me in the trenches WITH you.
My mission statement for my business is the exact mission statement for my life:
𝟏. 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭
No matter who you are, or where you are, I am going to love you and not judge you for the season of life you are in.
𝟐. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭
Because we are not meant to do life alone and we need each other, I want to CONNECT with people and encourage them to know they are not alone.
𝟑. 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡
If you feel pulled and are willing to dive deeper, I’m here to help you transform on your journey and dig through the trenches WITH you.
This is bigger than me. What the world accepts as “normal,” isn’t leaving many feeling very good.
I want to disrupt the system and allow people to experience true ownership of their lives. I want to instill in them the ability to experience more fulfillment in all that they do.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Ensuring every day that I continue to work on my faith, health, and discipline. I always invest in coaching and there is always more growth to be had daily. It is crucial to be a product of my own product. If there is something I am going to tell my clients to do, I better be willing to do the same.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I am a competitive and very driven person. Once I make my mind up on something, I am dedicated to completing it. I had invested in a business coach who did a fantastic job in selling me on their offer. The problem was that their closer was who I connected with and come to find out, I did not align with their strategies at all. I kept telling myself that it was just fear talking and chose to fully trust their system. I stopped doing what I knew worked up until that point and completely went all in on what they were coaching me to do. I invested a lot of time, money, and hours, only to receive no results. On top of that, I fell behind because I wasn’t doing what I usually did while following along with this program. The fruits of what you plant today will not bloom until a later date. Unfortunately for me, my choice of planting delayed my harvest. I had to choose to take value in what I learned from this situation, analyze what was working and what wasn’t, and start my planting process all over again. Needless to say, I am so grateful for this unfortunate situation because it reminded me to not put all of my eggs into one basket. It also gave me a lot of opportunity to overcome adversity and come out stronger, wiser, and better because of it.
