We recently connected with Jaylon Calhoun and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jaylon thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
Calhoun – last name, easy. It was no question that’s exactly what I wanted. I wanted my name on the company to show accountability, Trust and Family. I wanted people to know exactly who I am and what I stand for. So I use my last name personally because that’s what I wanted.

Jaylon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
A little about me is I’m a family man. I have a beautiful wife and 3 kids. Who are all different in their own unique way and I love it. What I want you as the customer to know. Is I am here to fight for you and give you the absolute BEST. I want to make the process so smooth for you and know that even if it’s takes months. I’ve achieved wins from insurance companies through grit and consistency. I want to help. Not to sell. I’m most proud of my customer service. I try my best to be available for ALL my clients and I believe they can vouch for me.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Great question. I feel I’ve built quite the following. Just off being Genuine and authentic. People don’t want a sales pitch. They want an actual human they can have a conversation and communicate well with. I provide that. I put out videos where I educate and provide solid information and tell stories about certain client success stories. It’s real. It’s raw. Most of all it’s Calhoun Roofing.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first started roofing. I was terrible. I felt like I got dropped in the middle of Tulsa with no direction on where to sell, who to help. No one wanted me knocking on their door. Fast forward a few weeks. My wife was 8 1/2 months pregnant. We had -$1400 in our account. No gas. I had to make a choice that I was going to persevere and provide for my family and take care of them. I came back from all that and the rest was history. That definitely tested my mental toughness and most of all, My Faith.
