Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jaylen Brissett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jaylen , appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I first knew I wanted to produce music after watching a genius deconstructed video where a producer was breaking down a beat that they made. As I was watching this video I was very astonished to see the music making process. This led to me taking music tech courses in high school and majoring in music technology in college.

Jaylen , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a music technology major in my senior year of college. Music technology is just a fancy term for producing music and audio engineering. In terms of stuff I’ve done, I scored a short film named “Everybody Knows”, I was the assistant sound designer for an on campus play named “The Virtuous Fall of the Girls from Our Lady of Sorrows, I was the sound board op for an on campus radio show named Tea Takes Radio. My main goal is to produce music for artists.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part is being able to learn a lot about the craft I’m pursuing
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
For me, my main goal is to get better and better at producing music. Another goal of mine is to work with some of my favorite artists like Alessia Cara
