We recently connected with Jayden & Rio Horcasitas Aubryn and have shared our conversation below.
Jayden & Rio, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Jayden: A defining moment for me was after doing Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. I’ve always had big dreams, but I never thought I could achieve them. I’m just me. I thought it was narcissistic of me to believe I could change the world. During PAT, though, I realized I was getting in my own way. The question was never *if* I could do something, it was *how* do I get it done. I want to be a healing light in this world, and I can be if I allow it.
Rio: A moment that stands out to me is helping a woman with severe hoarding disorder salvage her home after a flood. As we went through her belongings, I learned so much more about her story and who she is – a historian, an environmentalist, a parent. I knew at that moment I was meant to help people with organization, not by telling them what to do, but by holding space, co-creating, and building trust. My goal is to continue this with all of my clients.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Jayden: I have always wanted to help people. In 8th grade, I realized that helping others gave my life meaning. After studying music therapy for awhile, I eventually switched my educational path to psychology and clinical social work to become a psychotherapist. As a psychotherapist, I was always interested in trauma, addiction, personality disorders, psychosis, and family dynamics – I wanted to make a big difference in people who were really struggling.
As an artist, musician, and dancer, though, I am also interested in expressive and somatic ways to heal. Having studied music therapy and dance at a collegiate level, I knew the healing powers of these modalities. I read books, took trainings, found research articles, and befriended expressive and somatic therapists to learn from. Eventually, I got certified as a personal trainer and certified in Trauma informed Weight Lifting to promote healing in a less clinical way.
Now, I help neurodivergent artists, athletes, and nerds heal from trauma by taking a holistic approach. I use music, art, movement, food, and BDSM to release stored trauma and allow people to live an authentic life. I believe in addressing physical, mental, spiritual, and sexual health in ways that are fun and accessible. Whether a client is using the guitar to change thought patterns or kettlebells to improve their libido, I help facilitate healing in all areas of my clients life.
I offer personal training and holistic health coaching services, as well as run the Chaotic Healing with Jayden Aubryn podcast and Chaotic Healing with TISE Patreon.
Rio: Like many neurodivergent people I’ve had a plethoria of jobs – toy store clerk, escape room moderator, cruise line performance trainer, a mental health case manager, admin extraordinaire, and now business owner and ADHD coach.
I studied sociology and entrepreneurship as an undergraduate, but I wasn’t totally sure how that was going to translate into a career. While in college, I found a notice on a Craigslist for an in-person game moderator. This led me to a mysterious dingy basement filled with clues and puzzles, which turned out to be America’s first escape room. I helped scale the businesses to an international level, and I learned a lot about systems along the way.
I’ve always identified with people who think and feel differently from the norm. I’ve also seen firsthand how little support and how few tangible tools are available for people with mental health conditions. My most lasting impression of this was working with unhoused folks throughout the pandemic. This led me on my own path of healing and a crash course in boundary setting.
Today, I help creatives, freelancers, and young professionals navigate burnout, ADHD, and non-traditional routines. I am passionate about supporting people with their executive functioning in a way that is compassionate, strengths-based and fun! I have a grounded, non-judgemental presence that clients have described as “life-saving” in the storm of day-to-day overwhelm. I love using humor in the coaching space while celebrating glimmers and holding space for tough days. Additionally, I work with therapists and nonprofits to manage their administrative systems.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Rio and Jayden met during the 2020 pandemic while working at a non-profit that served the most vulnerable individuals in Seattle, WA – individuals experiencing addiction, homelessness, and severe mental health symptoms. Though the job and the times were stressful, they developed a mutual respect for each other’s work ethic and compassion.
After Jayden left the agency, they stayed in touch, became friends, started dating, and eventually got married.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Jayden: Curiosity. I love learning new things and about different ways of living life. When you realize how many ways there are to do something, you abandon the notion of right and wrong. You learn to find creative ways to get your needs met. You stay humble because you understand there’s so much about the world that we still don’t know. And from that humble, curious place, I’m able to really meet my clients where they are so they can meet their goals.
Rio: I believe one of the most important parts of a successful relationship is rapport. This goes for my coaching clients, and the fellow business owners I help with admin and systems. It’s important that your clients can trust you without feeling judged. Then, they can show up fully as who they are, and the healing can really begin.
