Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jayden Chien. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jayden , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
While work consumes a significant part of my life, I’ve learned that occasional breaks are crucial. Slowing down doesn’t mean stopping; it’s a chance to reflect, enhance mindset, and perform better. Refreshing, absorbing new energy or knowledge, and experiencing different perspectives nourish creativity, acting as vital ingredients for both life and work.
Jayden , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a production designer/scenic designer who weaves tales through my art, drawing inspiration from diverse cultures and people. I collaborate with artists across various disciplines to create unique and captivating experiences in films, theaters, concerts, and immersive productions.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is fueled by a mission to construct worlds and environments that immerse not only the audience but also the performers, actors, and the entire crew. The aim is to make them feel like they are part of the space, actively supporting the scripts or shows to convey the spirit intended by the production. This involves creating a world where I, as the creator, can also believe in the immersive nature of the environment.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
As an artist, the most rewarding aspect for me is crafting immersive environments and narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Witnessing people connect with the stories, recalling memories, and experiencing a profound connection to their lives brings a deep sense of achievement. Whether it’s the audience or the crew, seeing them immersed in the spaces I create or moved by the shows and films is truly fulfilling. This meaningful connection is the ultimate reward as an artist.
