We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jayda Wroblewski a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jayda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Talk to us about building your team? What was it like? What were some of the key challenges and what was your process like?
First starting out I was a solo artist. When I did have bigger bridal parties I did have other artists from school help me and I did the same for them. There was alot of learning to be had with that because I was in the process of establishing a business rather than being just an independent hairstylist taking on bridal parties. I wanted to really embrace the Bridal industry and give brides an experience they will never forget. I now as of 2023 have two other artists that work under me and I had found them from being in school with both of them. Being in a smaller town it’s hard to come across others who share the same passion and drive you may have and these two artists really delived that and continue to everyday. There isn’t one thing I would change about the growth I have experienced. I have learned so much and continue to more everyday.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am 25 years old and from Bessemer, Michigan. I graduated from Cosmetology in 2020 and stated my business in 2021. My team and I provide 100% on-site luxury bridal services to our clients. We strive to bring our brides the best stress free moring experience. Providing appropriate timelines, information and our professional experience are all things that help make sure the brides are relaxed the morning of their special day. We stay on top of what’s trending, invest in our education and just love and are very passionate about what we do.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
I think when it comes to managing a team its more than just managing. It’s about being a leader and always wanting what’s best for your team. I don’t do the everyday work just for me, I also do it for them. They are part of the reason why my business has been successful, without them I wouldn’t be able to services all of the amazing brides I am able to.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for me not only growing my clientele, but my business is not being afraid to invest my time and money. Investing in branding, coaches, tools, learning, everything you need to run a business. The world is an ever changing place and if you’re not willing to grow and seek out new opportunity then how will you stay in touch with what’s trending or what your potential clientele is looking for? So my biggest strategy has definitely been investing.
