We recently connected with Jay Michael Night and have shared our conversation below.

Jay Michael , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

I’ve had a story in my head for over a decade about a psychic vampire who drains the life energy from those around him. In 2021, I decided to finally write the first book of the story, and to my surprise, people really enjoyed it.

During the journey I realized that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Write stories that people can enjoy and escape into.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I have four books published currently. The first of which became award winning and was #1 on Amazon in its category several times.

I established Synedrium Publishing for my books and created a business with book related merchandise. It is currently in its second year and things are only looking up. Eventually, when I’m able, I plan on bringing in more authors.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

My writing career started out quite rough. I had no clue what I was doing and most of it was trial and error. Where do I find editors, cover designers, etc. What level of editing do I need? I ended up wasting thousands of dollars in the process of finding these answers. It felt hopeless. Now I have that all down pat and can focus more on getting my stories out as fast as possible for my readers.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal is to write stories that people love and identify with. Something to help them escape the everyday and into something magical. Ideally I’d love my books to give me true financial freedom (I enjoy dentistry but writing is my passion). It would also be neat to have my Otherside series made into a show or movies.
