We were lucky to catch up with Jay Math recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jay , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I was starting over I wouldn’t slow down a little bit and try not to scale up so fast. I feel like before I was looking for interns for my podcast and writers for my magazine it became so much trying to do two things at once. I’m sure now that their is a better way about developing multiple brands.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Jay Math I’m the Host of The Worldpeace Podcast. We have recorded over 100 interviews with artists, and business owners in the Atlanta area as well as outside the Atl. I got into the industry by seeing a need and I filled it. I was throwing an event, my first one I didn’t have the budget to promote. I thought it would be a good idea to start a podcast. that was in 2019. Over the years I developed a newsletter to go with the podcast entitled Show Discipline Magazine. Building the newsletter taught me about advertising I started to incorporate ads with small businesses in my newsletter as well as my podcast.. Now I can offer Ad services to businesses that have an online business as well as storefront locations and it works!
Im most proud of the vision that I had and stuck with four years ago. It makes me want to go with my gut even more knowing that I developed a brand that has influenced people in a positive way.
