We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jay Manuel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jay below.
Jay, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most rewarding projects I’ve worked on was when I sold beats to a dance company that has disabled and able-bodied dancers. The organization is called Infinite Flow Dance, and they found me on a website for black and disabled creatives. The connection with their founder Marisa Hamamoto went great, and they used my beats in their film called Scoops of Inclusion. The film, which promotes diversity, has been shown in many schools around the world. Being able to connect with a company that is focused on inclusivity is important to me as someone with a physical and cognitive disability.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Jay Manuel and I’m known professionally as Mini Producer. I am a full-time music producer, content creator, and actor. It has been my pleasure to work with companies such as Coca Cola and Snapchat. My beats have also been used by thousands of recording artists worldwide. In terms of services, I offer beats for sale, custom beats for artists and companies, content creation for social media campaigns, etc. When it comes to working with my clients, I am very hands-on. I believe my hands-on approach sets me apart from others in my field. My joy comes from seeing others succeed and being a part of their journey. If you’re interested in hiring me, please know that I put my heart and soul into every project I take on. I strive to ensure you’re proud of the end result. Authenticity is also key to my approach, which is why I create an environment where people can be themselves. My biggest value is inclusivity, and I look forward to working with those who are committed to what they do and willing to work hard to achieve their goals.

What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
In my opinion, the most rewarding thing about being a creative is its ability to impact others. Knowing that just by doing what I love, I can make a positive difference in others’ lives makes me happy. Through music or simply creating content, I have been able to become a part of others’ journeys. Using my gifts to make a positive difference in someone’s life reminds me that what I am doing is about more than myself. It has also given me the opportunity to inspire others to follow their dreams and keep them motivated.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A moment where I had to pivot in my business is when I had a near death experience. I had a simple surgery that took a turn for the worst and I ended up being in the hospital for a week when I was originally supposed to be there for 2. After that experience happened I looked at my life and business differently. I learned to take more breaks and spend time with people I care about. Before this moment, I was always focused on working and not taking any days off. This experience forever changed how I looked at my life and the way I approached my business.
