We were lucky to catch up with Jay James recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jay, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The most meaningful project that I’ve worked on is our latest project: ‘Antidote ⚕ – Jay James (feat. Zarutt Malai)’ It just released yesterday on September 1st, 2022 and can be found in all online stores now; Spotify, Apple Music, Itunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, Youtube Music ~ everywhere.
This is our third release as our band ‘Immortality Projects’ begins gearing up for our world tour.

Things were in a pretty dark place when this project was born. I was somewhere I didn’t want to be, surrounded by people I didn’t want to be surrounded by… – everything was falling apart everywhere as the world caved in on itself at the appearance of Covid19.
I had left my love of a home to travel and then things hit the fan as the entire world shut down for the pandemic. Things got dark for a while… looking back on it… for all of us…
This song was written at the beginning of the pandemic; in the middle of the night on the side of the road under a streetlight, alone in my car in the rain – dying for an Antidote.

The project for me marks a change in my development as an artist, comfort wise.
Walking through the fires in your life – what ever they may be. We all have this power and through our individual passions we obtain an Antidote that pulls and thrusts us through any difficult situation.

Antidote is a reminder – to stay focused, stay creative, and to stay conscious while you overcome your obstacle.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Jay James; I got into my music career through my love of music, creative writing, film acting, directing, and stunt-work in the Hollywood entertainment industry.

I am the lead singer of the pop metal band ‘Immortality Projects’ based in Los Angeles, CA.
I’m represented by DDO Artists Agency LA and I’m the owner and founder of Edge Rock Venue.

We make that music that makes you want to Jump.
Our second release ‘Left in this Mag – Jay James (feat. Zarutt Malai & ek0)’ made it on the radio in Germany! Shout out to all the fans in Germany – to Discomfort Wings, and to 674FM!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Signing with the*** right Record Label and killing it on it on a world tour is our number #1 priority. To travel the world, flip the stage, and light up the lives of millions, rekindling the flames of imagination and power that lay dormant in hearts all over the globe is our everlasting dream and desire. Can’t wait to celebrate with you in your city.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to connect with my fans***. To be able to express for them, the unseen energy that they feel inside.

***As an ambassador for One Ocean Diving, a shark conservation & research organization in Haleiwa, Hawaii; I like to know that the work that we’re doing and that we stand for is making the world a greater place. I have a huge love for shark research and marine biology and love the efforts that our organization goes through to educate the public and to protect these endangered species that need our help. The planet needs our help and these animals need our help…

There is a HUGE need for representatives in Florida to help push the ban for shark fishing and shark fishing tournaments. If you or anyone that you know has any connections or willingness to contribute either independently or to help create a larger community effort, it would be AMAZING as there is much need for that aspect in the United States.

As an organization we are also continuing to support the Maldives water filter project through Nature Friends of Maldives and Pelagic Divers Fuvahmulah, and we’re asking for people to help contribute to awareness around commercial fisheries and by catch in any way shape or form.

The earth is our home – protect it.
