Hi Jax, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
I strongly believe that it’s essential to diverge from the industry standard to stay relevant and ahead of the curve. One of the things that my personal brand does differently is that I prioritize a personalized approach to each client, tailoring our strategies to their unique needs and goals. Instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, I take the time to understand my clients’ brand vision and values to create a bespoke plan that sets them apart from the competition.
For example, when working with a new talent, I go beyond just booking gigs and negotiating deals. I strive to create a strong personal connection with my clients, working closely with them to develop their brand image and messaging and provide guidance on their social media presence. This approach helps our clients to build a loyal fanbase and stand out in a crowded market.

My name is Jax Hillard, and I am a Talent & Brand Manager based in Beverly Hills, California. Over the years, I have built a diverse career in the entertainment industry, which has allowed me to gain valuable experience and insights into various aspects of the business.
My journey began in New York City, where I worked for a top promoter and honed my skills in managing calendars, clients, and navigating conversations. During that time, I developed a deep love for the theater world and hosted cabarets at renowned venues such as The Duplex in the West Village. These experiences allowed me to network extensively and connect with talented actors, building relationships that would later prove invaluable.
Alongside my work in the theater industry, I also gained expertise in business and operations through positions with companies like Meetup.com, NARS Beauty, and various start-ups. This diverse background eventually led me to a leadership role in a major Fortune 100 company. Although it was a valuable experience, I realized that it did not align with my true passions: Brand & Talent Management.
As a Talent & Brand Manager, my primary focus is discovering new talent and nurturing lasting relationships with industry professionals. I work with actors, influencers, musicians, and theater artists, guiding their careers in film, television, music, and theater. By leveraging my extensive network and industry expertise, I strive to secure the best opportunities for my clients and help them cultivate their skills to their fullest potential.
What sets me apart is my passion for what I do and my commitment to building authentic relationships. I believe in taking a personalized approach to talent management, understanding that each client is unique and requires tailored strategies for success. Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One significant moment of pivoting in my career and life occurred when I made the decision to leave my position as a leader of a major Fortune 100 company. While the company itself was reputable and offered stability, I realized that it did not align with my true passions and aspirations.
With a leap of faith, I decided to part ways with the company and take a bold step toward pursuing a more independent path. I left behind my Lower East Side apartment in New York City and relocated to Beverly Hills, a city known for its vibrant entertainment scene. It was a significant and sometimes daunting change, as I was leaving behind a stable job and uprooting my life to start anew.

While the company itself was reputable and offered stability, I realized that it did not align with my true passions and aspirations.
At that point, I had invested considerable time and effort into building my expertise in business and operations. However, deep down, I knew that my heart belonged in the entertainment industry. I craved the fulfillment that comes from working directly with talent, discovering new individuals, and guiding their careers.
With a leap of faith, I decided to part ways with the company and take a bold step toward pursuing my dreams. I left behind my Lower East Side apartment in New York City and relocated to Los Angeles, a city known for its vibrant entertainment scene. It was a significant and sometimes daunting change, as I was leaving behind a stable job and uprooting my life to start anew.
In Beverly Hills, I had to pivot my career path and find a way to break into the industry. I had already launched my private brand management venture but wanted to simultaneously be in the entertainment industry. It was during this time that I had the fortune of meeting Brent Paxton, the CEO of Kreativ Media Partners. Recognizing my passion and potential, he offered to partner with me as a Talent Manager. This was the turning point that allowed me to expand my personal business.
This transformative shift not only demanded a realignment of my professional trajectory but also necessitated adaptability, resilience, and an unwavering willingness to start anew. Although I must acknowledge that I already had some familiarity with the city, thanks to a pre-existing social scene and my family’s connection, establishing myself in a different city was still a formidable endeavor. It proved to be a challenging journey, but one that has ultimately yielded immeasurable rewards and personal growth.
This pivotal moment in my life taught me the importance of listening to my inner voice and having the courage to make changes that align with my true passions and values. It reminded me that success is not solely defined by external factors such as job titles or financial security but by personal fulfillment and the pursuit of what truly ignites our spirits.
Through this experience, I learned the power of taking risks and embracing new opportunities. It reaffirmed my belief that when we dare to pivot and follow our passions, we open doors to possibilities we may have never imagined.
