We recently connected with Javon Talley and have shared our conversation below.
Javon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, folks often look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight – but that often obscures all the nitty, gritty details of everything that went into the growth phase of your business. We’d love to hear about your scaling story and how you scaled up?
Hard work and dedication are the two words that define me scaling up. The Royal Falcon Brand started off as a small business that served as an incubator to help start other business. In 2018, we rented out small colleges to give local artists a place to perform their music and poetry. With each event we hosted the whole year, we raised over $5,000 dollars. With that money we funded scholarships, created grants and helped the less fortune. But entering 2019 it seemed like everyone was doing the same thing. Now don’t get me wrong it should not matter when you are helping people, but I wanted the name Royal Falcon to live even if I am not living. In the summer of 2019 we created a podcast call Morningstar Radio. This podcast by the end of 2020 reached over 120 countries. The point of the podcast was to be safe haven for people to talk without being judge. From relationships to promoting business and talking about social issues we created the only podcast that matter. But just like the music & art shows by the end of 2020 everyone had a podcast, leaving me trying to figure out how I can scale up again. So I begin to network. Partnering with a local producer name Drew Rafferty and my bloodline Dre Porter we created a music label that taught young artist how to become an artist and control all of their masters. Through that partnership I met man a name Antwain Watson. Watson helped me created an organization called The Foundation. The foundation is a men’s group that seeks to find brothers of all backgrounds that wants to be an incubator of inspiration to other men, kids and the world. After the foundation, it lead me to create another podcast with a talented baseball coach name Chris Hitchman. How did I scale up? By never giving up and allowing what I believe in become a fad
Javon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
If this is your first time reading an article about me from the amazing Canvas magazine, I want you to remember one thing if you don’t remember nothing and that is love. Love is the most powerful and important tool in this world and that is what my business is about. The Royal Falcon Brand and The Foundation are organizations that was created to help those without a voice. The Royal Falcon Brand is a lifestyle management broken into four pillars. Fitness, merchandise, podcasting and community. Since 2018, The Royal Falcon Brand has become proud winners of humanitarian awards, sponsors of homeless shelters, fitness coaches and medians to settle many social conflicts in today’s society. With the success of the Royal Falcon Brand and trying to figure out what is next, came the Foundation. A men’s organization focusing on building better men, from all backgrounds, in this world today. The Foundation has found their most success in creating therapy sessions for men and highlighting the good many locals do in their city. With these high lights the locals receive gift cards, trips sponsorships etc.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
It’s going to sound cocky but the goal that is driving me is to become the best. When running my business, I am not focus on making money. While the money comes in, my drive to help people is what keeps me going. Trying to figure out the next best They say energy can not be destroy. When it is my time to transcend from the physical plains, I want the energy of helping people I left behind to live on forever in the name of The Royal Falcon Brand and The Foundation.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
You lead people and manage things. Don’t treat people like they are replaceable or like numbers. If you want a team that will follow you through the end then you respect them, stand on what you believe everyday and give them a voice.
