Javi and Andrés , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
JC Events started throughout our childhood years. As we both grew up Javi and Andres both had a very creative mind. No matter the occasion we were both one to come up with a “project” or an idea to decorate or create something unique for a special someone and/or holiday. Javi grew up making every birthday and holiday special for every family member, whether it was a simple gift or decorating his house to add a memorable touch he always had something under his sleeve. His first big events were his sister’s quinceañeras, where he was able to bring their ideas to life. Him and his mother had decided to take care of every detail of each quinceañera, therefore buying tablecloths, chair covers, sashes, along with all the basics for a perfect party. Himself and his mom worked throughout the months leading to each party, to create every centerpiece, entrance props, candy table treats, party favors and much more to make sure each party was unforgettable. Hearing amazing comments from family and friends made Javi believe this could something he could do as a living.
As far as Andres he grew up being very involved in school, as part of student council, D.E.C.A and other extra curricular clubs in his school. As a member of all these clubs Andres was always involved in the planning and organization of many school activities such as, spirit week, toy drives, school dances, and pep rallys. During his Junior year in high school the person in charge of prom had to step down due to personal reasons, this is when the student council advisor asked for his help organizing Prom 2016. When Andres took on the task there was only 40 days until prom and the organizing class only had $1,000 fundraised for prom. It was then when he had to use all his persuasion to convince every vendor needed to allow a small deposits and weekly payments, and as soon as all contracts were signed and ready to go, the sale of prom tickets began! With that money the weekly payments to each vendor were made and prom was able to happen just as scheduled. Everyone involved told Andres he would be a great event planner even though at the time it wasn’t something in his mind.
Fast forward to 2018 Andres had been asked to organize and execute several events including anniversaries, quinceañeras and caterings. He continued to do this as a side hustle until 2021 this is when Javi and Andres finally joined forces and combined all supplies and decor that both had collected throughout the years to become JC Events LLC.
JC Events came out of their initials ‘J’ for Javi and “C” from Andres last name Calixto.


Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
JC Events quickly became an all inclusive event planning company that focuses on taking care of every single aspect of your event. As a one stop shop we are able to take care of guest seating, centerpieces, photo ops, balloons, to even food and cake. Our main focus is on making every event as unique & custom as possible. Javi & Andres will work directly with the client to design, plan, book & execute the perfect event tailored to your dreams. As a full event planning company we always offer the option for our team to handle every booking needed for our clients to not have a worry in their mind. Of course always updating our clients through every step of the way until the day of the event.
As a fairly new company we’re mostly proud of being able to start from the ground up, with a small set of inventory and limited services. Within a year we were able to start providing almost every service needed for a stress free party. Javi’s Balloon skills, creative thinking and knowledge of social media propelled us to promote each of our new services as we acquire them. Andres had many years of business management experience, along with catering and pastry knowledge. Combining all of our skills together made us one of the only companies in Tucson AZ that truly provides it all. Ours services have a wide range from everything decor like, linens, tablecloths, tables and chairs, florals, balloons, to grazing tables, buffet style caterings, cakes, dessert tables, welcome signs and much more.
Being able to put a smile on our clients faces once they see the final outcome, truly reminds us that what we are doing is not just for money, but its a way to bring peoples ideas and visions to life. At the end we truly are bringing someone’s dream to reality. That’s why we always say…….. YOU Dream, We PLAN, ENJOY IT ALL!


How’d you meet your business partner?
As we both approached our last semester of senior year in high school(2017) We had the pleasure of meeting each other through mutual friends. As we got know each other and learned what truly made us, us; our friendship continued to grow. We both knew we had and instant connection with each other, and one our things in common were that we LOVED decorating. We always had big ideas for what our adult life’s would look like, and in many ways we both grew up to admire each other for our unique qualities. Three years later in the middle of 2020 was when we both knew we felt something much more than just a friendship, and we decided to start dating in October of 2020. As we got know each other on a more intimate way, Andres could tell Javi was miserable in his 9 to 5 job as a covid screener. Through much convincing and talking Andres convinced Javi to quit his job and take on the risk/challenge of doing JC events full time. The first year was a year of trial and error, and although it was tough we were able to pull through and start making a name for ourselves.
Now in 2024 and thanks to our business we were able to buy our first home together. We are currently still a home based company where we run everything from our living room and kitchen.


What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Building a reputation in this industry was quite hard, but by being consistent with posting on social media, making reels & TikTok’s has helped us in numerous ways. We have come to learn that our clients love to see the behind the scenes of all the work that goes into each of our events. Being punctual is a big priority for us, weather its a business meeting, a venue walk- through or setting up an event we like to show our cliental that we are reliable by always being on time. We do this by keeping an organize system, where we give ourselves plenty of time to never run behind schedule. Clear communication is always a must, we like to make sure we always fully understand our clients ideas to be able to bring them to life just as they imagined. We Strive for responding quickly to inquiries, emails, messages to show our cliental we are fast paced and they can rely on us with any questions or concerns they may have.
