We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Javaris Jordan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Javaris below.
Javaris , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
My aspiration is for everyone to recognize my unwavering authenticity. While I occasionally indulge in creative fantasies within my music, I want to be acknowledged for the genuine love I pour into my art. In constructing a legacy, it’s easy to overlook the importance of infusing passion, turning it into a mere business endeavor. While I respect those who embrace a ‘work hard, no play’ mentality, my approach revolves around asking, “Am I enjoying this? Does it feel natural?” Past experiences taught me that forcing creativity without love resulted in a zombie-like output focused on quantity over quality. Now, I’ve found that great works often emerge when I remove the pressure, making the process enjoyable.
Moreover, I aspire to be remembered as someone who walked in love, promoting the idea that in a world often overshadowed by negativity, we can learn to make lemonade out of life’s lemons. Despite the prevalent hatred, my journey emphasizes the transformative power of self. I believe that the most impactful way to change the world is through personal transformation. By cultivating love within ourselves, we radiate positivity that can ripple through the fabric of society. Encouraging others to embrace love, resilience, and a positive mindset, my legacy aims to inspire individuals to navigate life’s challenges with grace, turning adversities into opportunities for growth and kindness.
I aim not to be a savior but to inspire self-empowerment, particularly in navigating mental health challenges. Having battled depression and lost my mother to suicide in 2016, I want people to grasp the significance of their impact on the world. I advocate for embracing emotions and acknowledging life’s constant changes. It’s alright to feel down, but crucial to remember that after a moment of vulnerability, one should rise and push harder. A quote from the movie “Sing” resonates with me: “The best thing about rock bottom is that there is no place to go but up!”
Lastly, I wish to be remembered as someone who embraced the uncertainty of pursuing goals, regardless of success or failure. Transparency is key; whether I make a splash or crash, the courage to dive into the unknown is a triumph in itself.
Javaris , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I adopt the artist name Eternal Life The Alchemist and predominantly create rap music, though I frequently explore various genres due to my deep appreciation for music. My musical journey began as an outlet for self-expression, rooted in overcoming a speech impediment that subjected me to bullying and exclusion. Music provided a liberating space where my words flowed without stutter. I take pride in the boundless creative nature of music and resist confining my work to specific labels. My music is often influenced by a divine inspiration, as I feel a higher force guiding my words in certain moments. I embrace this influence, allowing it to take control. My mission is not to save others but to inspire self-realization and empowerment, anchored in the belief in one’s own power.
When you engage with my art, you’re getting an authentic representation of me – whether it’s my imagination, transparency, emotions, or the informative facets of myself. Regardless of the content, every piece reflects a genuine aspect of who I am.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for expanding clientele, based on my experience, involves adopting transparency. This approach satisfies the human need for connection throughout life’s various journeys and plays a pivotal role in attracting a client base of like-minded individuals. Transparency not only cultivates trust, irrespective of judgments, but it also humanizes your brand. In industries such as music or art, where individuals with perceived “high status” are often elevated to god-like figures, transparency dispels this illusion. It communicates that challenges, and the ability to overcome them, are shared experiences. By openly sharing such experiences, transparency establishes an immediate connection, assuring potential clients that if your brand can achieve success, so can theirs.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
An essential aspect I needed to unlearn was the poverty mindset—a thought process that perpetuates a cycle of victimhood for many. Before transitioning my artist name to Eternal Life The Alchemist, I faced numerous challenges in my personal and professional life, feeling trapped and powerless. The turning point came when I realized I didn’t have to endure certain situations or be a martyr for peace. Establishing clear boundaries became an act of self-love and consideration for others. This shift dissolved the poverty mindset, inviting more peace into my life. I started attracting like-minded individuals, fostering growth and learning. Stepping out of the victim mentality, I embraced my power, leaving behind bitterness and moving towards a more empowered self.
