We recently connected with Javan Plummer and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Javan, thanks for joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.

Ever since I was young my mom has been my Mother and Father. One thing that my mom has done right that I am beyond grateful for is showing me how to finish what I start no matter whether I fail or not. She taught me that in every failed result there is a lesson to be learned. So I’m my life rather than quitting when I know I have failed I keep pushing because I know that the amount of work that I put in I will get out of it. My mom texting me this has impacted my life because it has allowed me to overcome failure in a way some others around me can’t. I’m acting and modeling you have to accept failure and expect 100 no’s before you get a yes.

Javan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My business is my brand. I act and model so I go with that I established a clothing brand called JP Fashions, a mens and woman’s fashion clothing brand. I think what sets me apart from others is my drive and work ethics. Not many people from experience in workplaces have the kind of work ethic I do so I take pride in mine and how I complete a job.

How did you build your audience on social media?

The advice I would give from my experience being a social media influencer is, the main ultimate number one rule is to stay consistent. Your brand is your business so being consistent and having fans and followers see you frequently will keep them returning to see what your working on next. My main platform is Instagram but it is good to have multiple social media avenues for different fans and followers to interact and engage with you.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I think that instagram helped me build and grow my reputation as an actor and model. Instagram is an easy way for hundreds of thousands people to see your work and projects.
