Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jaszy Shavers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jaszy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Pursuing your dream or heartfelt purpose is always a risk.
For a calculated individual as myself it was a huge risk but thankfully I have no regrets.
Going full-time with my music was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made. It seemed unrealistic, untimely and unpromising to be honest. Many people didn’t understand or even support it and the journey has shed much light on who/what really matters to me. It wasn’t flowers and sunshine for a while because not only did I do it on a whim but I also did it with little resources. I had and have a very small support system who truly wants the best for me but through thick and thin we always make it shake.
Besides visuals (all done by Envision Artistry) I am writing, producing, engineering, mixing and mastering, marketing, publishing, and pushing my music all by myself. In addition, I am doing all of the networking, social media, graphic design, bookings, meetings, press, make-up, costume design, hairstyling, and A/V on my own. Sometimes I surprise myself with how much ground I cover daily.
The average artist has a team and each person plays a pivotal role in their career. Now imagine one person being responsible to learn and perform each position all at the same time while creating or just living life. It’s been a really wild ride but every month I see myself evolve. The network I’ve made and opportunities I’m getting are insane but the respect I’ve received for doing my thing my way is even better.
Getting love from your favorite artists, producers and engineers is so inspiring. Working with them is life changing and coming from the bottom up is a true testimony. Since I have my hands in so many pots I’m able to work in so many avenues. I just finished scoring my first movie and tv episode (to premier this year), released my first self-produced/engineered EP, gotten at least five major placements in less than three months (due to release tin the next few months) and been nominated for numerous awards regarding my musical influence. So much more is to come that I can’t announce but the blessings are much more than I could have expected or even dreamed.
I say to any and everyone second-guessing themselves to take the risk. Yeah life happens, yeah folks will judge you, yeah you could lose it all, yeah you never know what will happen, yeah it could all go wrong, but what if it’s worth it? What if after all the drama, tears, loss and frustration everything works as intended? What if you find a new version of yourself or your craft? What if your life changes forever? What if you experience a world you never imagined?
It’s possible. I’m proof of that and what is to come will illustrate it even more vividly.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

To inspire authenticity, originality, creativity, expression, emotion, and evolution. I want to make music that will be sampled years down the line. I want to inspire my listeners to create, explore and share who they truly are.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I love love love reading and research!
In this era of information it is essential to learn as much as possible about everything you can while the information is accessible.
My top three books right now are:
– The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
– Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans
– Eat Mangoes Naked: Finding Pleasure Everywhere by SARK
I really recommend these books if you’re feeling stuck, discouraged or even conflicted about life and the world today. They have been my go-to’s for peace of mind, open-mindedness and self-discovery.
